Chuck: No big surprise, the life of Chuck Bartowski will be in danger - only this season it's his National Security protector Casey who's assigned to rub him out. "When the Intersect is rebuilt, Chuck becomes obsolete and expendable," says cocreator Josh Schwartz of the top-secret database implanted in Chuck's brain. "The government wants him to 'disappear' and that mission falls to Casey." CIA agent Sarah comes face-to-face with her high-school nemesis (Nicole Richie). Tony Hale (Buster from Arrested Development) joins the cast as a new assistant manager at the Buy More, who's determined to get to the bottom of Chuck's mysterious absences. John Larroquette guests as an alcoholic ex-spy who teaches Chuck how to seduce a black widow, played by The O.C.'s Melinda Clarke, and Michael Clarke Duncan plays baddie-for-hire Mr. Colt. "There's a catastrophic event at the end of the season premiere," Schwartz adds. "We're coming out with all guns blazing. We're not saving anything." Source: Chuck online.

Chuck- Jordana Brewster joins cast This is certainly a step up from Nicole Richie. NBC's fraktacular Chuck has recruited the fraktabulous Jordana Brewster to play a love interest for Zachary Levi for a minimum of three episodes, executive producer Josh Schwartz confirms to me exclusively. Her character is the infamous Jill, the "mythic college girlfriend who broke Chuck's heart, slept with his best friend Bryce Larkin, and is basically responsible for setting his life crashing off course and landing him at the Nerd Herd," Schwartz explains. "He always has imagined seeing her again, and being able to impress her with all he's accomplished. Unfortunately, when he does meet her, he's doing a computer install and she's a brilliant, successful, beautiful doctor working to create antibodies to horrible diseases. "The part is funny, romantic, there's action and cool twists and emotional drama," Schwartz continues. "It's the juiciest arc we've done yet and one that ties very deeply into the mythology of the show and the character of Chuck." Schwartz says he has long wanted to work with Brewster, who seemed primed for small-screen superstardom last year when she was tapped to succeed Angelina Jolie in the much-buzzed-about (but ultimately doomed) Mr. & Mrs. Smith pilot. Here's hoping Chuck does for her career what that show was supposed to. What do you think? Do you spy the makings of a dynamic duo in Levi and Brewster? I have a hunch you do. Source: EW

Very detailed episode spoiler's for Chuck Season 2 Episode's 5 & 6. ******************* Episode 5. Apparently rabid gamers Zachary Levi and Joshua Gomez have finally gotten to the writers and succeeded in getting their hobby written into a storyline outside of Buy More: In episode five, "Chuck vs. Tom Sawyer," Chuck helps a Japanese videogame inventor named Maury Moto who dabbled in industrial espionage and is now in a bad-guy-related bind. Source: Kristen on E! Additional Detailed Spoilers: In the fifth episode, we start off in 1983, where Jeff Barnes, sporting a mullet and mustache, has just won the Moto Industries Missile Command championship. He's asked what's next for him. Flanked by two bikini babes, he says: Why decide, when I've got so many tasty options? Then it's 25 years later, and he's working at the Buy More, wistfully muttering to himself about his "tasty options." Some terrorists have taken over Moto Industries. Casey and Chuck show up to infiltrate the place, and Chuck tries to use his nerd skills to talk his way in with the geeks up front. But the PhDs at Moto Industries are not impressed with Chuck's paltry nerd-fu. "Why don't you help some old lady log onto AOL or something?" So Sarah has to go in and flash some cleavage to get the nerds' attention. The nerds fall all over each other to help fix her computer. Meanwhile, Casey decides to sneak around, leaving Chuck where it's safe — but as soon as Casey's gone, a terrorist turns up. But Chuck talks his way into Mauro Moto's penthouse. A Moto Industries satellite is going to destroy everything unless Chuck can get the control codes, which can only be found on the last level of every Missile Command game, as we explained before. Maury Moto explains that the mathematics underlying Missile Command are too complex for anyone else to reach that level: "the music of the universe." "As much as I loved making games, I hated making weapons," he adds. The terrorists have forced Maury to play Missile Command, so they can access those codes. "How many will die for my weakness?" he asks. But Maury has to keep playing the game, or it'll explode. "The kill screen doesn't end," he explains. So Chuck and Casey have to escape, leaving Maury to explode. Casey mistakenly believes that anybody who was into Missile Command would now be in their 30s and have jobs, wives and kids, but Chuck mouths: "No they don't." Meanwhile, he sees a TV broadcast about someone trying to beat the Missile Command high-score record, and "flashes" on the information. He realizes the terrorists are using the local TV station to control the satellite. Sarah heads over there. Jeff explains the secret of Missile Command is "all about patterns. Heavy duty math. Before I play, I like to listen to Rush, and when I listen to Rush, I like to partake of a certain 100% natural, but not altogether legal, herbal enhancer... It's gotta be outta this world." Meanwhile, literally out of this world, the satellite is preparing to strike. Morgan is jealous of all the attention Chuck is paying to Jeff. It turns out Rush's music follows the exact same time signature as the game. And Rush's sheet music is in the "intersect," the spy database in Chuck's head. Because they're Canadian. But Morgan gets over his jealousy enough to announce Chuck on-stage, with flashing lights, as "the King Of Sting, the Dancing Destroyer," etc. Chuck jumps up on stage and brandishes a single quarter. Chuck loses the first time, to the amusement of a crowd of jeering nerds who call him "king of the losers." But then he gets Morgan to play some Rush, and this time he beats the game, reaching the "kill screen" and then "beating the kill screen," finally getting to the satellite codes. Meanwhile, Sarah takes out two terrorists holding the TV relay station, catching one unawares with a bag of chips in his mouth. She catches both their machine guns and brandishes them. Chuck gets her the codes just in time to stop the countdown, as Casey is preparing to try and shoot the satellite down. Source: www.io9.com

Very detailed episode spoiler's for Chuck Season 2 Episode's 5 & 6. ******************* Episode 6. Episode 6 of Season 2 will finally give us our first glimpse of Jill, the girl who Chuck has never gotten over since she dumped him for Bryce Larkin. The episode will feature a flashback, showing us how Chuck found out that Jill became Bryce’s girl. In the present time she’s a scientist, brunette, and described as “egg-heady” and bumps into Chuck while he and the gang are on a mission. Another treat this ep gives us: Yvonne Strahovski’s Sarah gets to use an Australian accent and is apparently not fond of public speaking. Additional Detailed Spoiler: Episode 6 starts off with a flashback to 2003, with Chuck wearing a slightly different version of the Buy More uniform. He's at a Tri Delt sorority party at Stanford, and people are whispering about how he got kicked out for "stealing." He insists he didn't cheat. Then he throws a pebble at his ex-girlfriend Jill's window. Her bitchy friend Shari opens the window and says that if Jill wanted to talk to Chuck, she would have answered his 28 phone calls. Chuck says it's only 20 phone calls, because for eight of them, he hung up before her voice mail picked up. A bunch of frat guys gather around, and it's getting embarrassing. Chuck says he drove 346 miles on his break from his purely temporary job because he loves Liz. She finally pokes her head out and says "it's over." Chuck hopes she means the public conversation is over, to be replaced with a private chat at Starbucks. But no. She's dating Bryce Larkin now. "Deal with it," says Shari. In the present day, Chuck is in a hotel conference center, when he spots Jill. He hides under the desk, and begs the hotel clerk to pull the fire alarm as a distraction, so he can get away. Then Jill walks up and asks for help setting up her computer. The hotel clerk gives up Chuck's location. Chuck takes Jill out for a stroll and a fancy dinner, where everybody else in the restaurant is CIA. Casey is the maitre d', and this gives Chuck a chance to act like a big shot, giving Casey a rolled up dollar bill and patting his cheek. Sarah is the waitress. Just when Chuck is trying to convince Jill he's a big shot now, the rest of his Nerd Herd coworkers show up. He tries to pretend they're his ex-coworkers who just won't let go. Then a valet shows up with a Ferrari, and Chuck tries to pretend its his. Lester bursts his bubble: "He makes eleven dollars an hour at the Buy More. Do the math." Some time after that, Chuck is standing outside the door of Jill's hotel room, giving a long speech about his life, and the fact that he rented a car he couldn't drive, because of the transmission, and his ability to quote movies, and the fact that he still hasn't gotten over Jill. A middle aged woman across the hall is quite impressed and tells Chuck she has a bubble bath running. Chuck says he'll play this hand out first. Then Jill opens the door and asks if it's really true that Chuck hasn't gotten over her. He says yes and she invites him in. Casey and Sarah are watching the hotel room, and Casey owes Sarah ten bucks. Later, Chuck listens in on Jill's phone line in the spy van, and hears Jill talking to her bitchy friend Shari about how Chuck came to her hotel room to apologize, and she let him in. He's like a cute puppy that she couldn't turn away. Shari says Chuck is a loser who only makes $10 an hour, and Chuck can't resist piping up to say he actually makes $10.75. Jill is like, "Why are you on my phone line, Chuck?" Chuck tries to pass it off: "I just tried to call, I guess our wires got crossed. Is this a party line?" Chuck spots an assassin named Fox Den getting into an elevator, and Casey and Sarah follow. It turns out the assassin is really named Rommell, and he kills someone named Guy Lafleur. Sarah has to give a talk on toxicology at a scientific conference, pretending to be an Australian scientist named Dr. Eva Anderson. She stalls, talking about how great the buffet was. Meanwhile, a man named Rommell pulls out a vial of deadly virus, with a thin membrane covering it. The membrane starts smoking away. Casey thinks it's a wet dog, then realizes: "The virus has been released. Don't inhale!" They find Rommell, who tells them he's really CIA and the mission is much more complex than they could have realized. Then Chuck runs up and announces that he's their only hope for survival. "Just when I thought things couldn't get worse," Casey gripes. [Casting sides] Source: www.io9.com

RYAN McPARTLIN: NICOLE RICHIE KICKED BUTT!Maybe Nicole Richie should give up acting and take up stunt work. The socialite recently filmed a guest spot on NBC’s spy dramedy Chuck and has earned rave reviews form her co-stars for her balls-out performance.“I wasn’t shooting with her because she was doing all the action stuff, but everyone said she did a great job. She’s really committed to it,” Ryan McPartlin tells OK! at the ESPY Awards. The actor conceded he was wary of Nicole’s commitment as acting isn’t her claim to fame, but the 26-year-old erased all of his concerns.“She came in and did all of her own stunts and just kicked ass from what I hear,” he says. Chuck’s TCA panel was this morning, featuring Josh Schwartz, Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster and Adam Baldwin. Here’s a news round up:
From BuddyTV:
When Chuck returns, it will come back with a slew of guest stars. At the TCA press tour, creator Josh Schwartz previewed how season 2 will begin and provided some scintillating details about Nicole Richie’s guest appearance.
Schwartz said that season 2 will open with guest star Michael Clarke Duncan dangling Chuck (Zachary Levi) out a window, which segues into Chuck telling the tale of how he came to be in such a precarious predicament, providing plenty of time for exposition to catch people up. This was important because, as he described it, the show has been off the air for several years and even the fans may have forgotten what happened.
As for Richie’s character, she’s Sarah’s high school rival who will be showing up in the fourth episode as Sarah brings Chuck to her high school reunion. In addition, Richie’s character husband is played by Ben Savage, star of Boy Meets World. The episode will also feature a big fight scene in the high school’s locker room shower between Richie and Yvonne Strahovski that Schwartz promised will be quite wet.
Schwartz also mentioned season 2 will deal with the government completion of the new Intersect and Chuck’s expendability, with Casey (Adam Baldwin) put in charge of dealing with Chuck.
In terms of ratings, Schwartz also pointed out that young people are watching shows online more frequently, saying the kids going off to college don’t even bring TVs, just their laptops. He said that we live in a post-Nielsen world and “Ratings no longer necessarily reflect the success of a show.”
When asked about the fact that Schwartz’s two shows, Chuck and Gossip Girl, will be airing at the same time this Fall, he was optimistic, simply happy to have two shows on the air, though he did try everything he could to convince the networks not to do it. Zachary Levi took a joking tone about the competition, saying “People that are really into Gossip Girl will watch Gossip Girl, and the people that are really into Chuck…will leave us for Gossip Girl.” Continuing the humor, Schwartz promised a job on Gossip Girl for Levi.

The Future for Chuck Josh Schwartz and Zachary Levi talk Season 2.Today at the Television Critics Association press tour, Chuck's co-creator Josh Schwartz and star Zachary Levi spoke to the assembled press about Season 2 of the well-received series. Season 1 had a subplot in which Casey (Adam Baldwin) had orders to eventually kill Chuck. When asked about the ongoing danger to Chuck's life, Schwartz quipped, "We like to keep Zach on the edge," and when Levi protested, "I'm not just going to die, I hope, Josh," Schwartz responded, "Next year it we be called Morgan." More seriously, Schwartz said, "We actually play with this going right into the first episode this season, which is this idea of when the government rebuilds the Intersect computer, Chuck will become expendable and it will be left to Casey, Adam Baldwin's character to 'disappear' him, as they say in the NSA. And obviously, for a guy like Casey's who's all about his job, his burgeoning feelings of friendship towards Chuck could begin to complicate that." Referring to new characters this season, Schwartz said, "We've gone casting crazy this year." He explained, "Nicole Richie is playing a super villain and has a pretty bad-ass shower fight sequence with Yvonne where they're attacking each other with pipes and plumbing. [We have] Michael Clarke Duncan, John Larroquette, Melinda Clarke. Jordana Brewster is doing three episodes as Chuck's college girlfriend, Jill, who has come back, the girl who broke his heart, who sort of sent him spiraling out of control. He woke up one day, he was working at the Nerd Herd, and now she's come back. He has the opportunity to finally get back the one that got away and broke his heart. Tony Hale from Arrested Development plays Emmett, who is the officious new assistant manager at the Buy More. And you will be seeing the Nerd Herd in an expanded role this year as part of the show." One journalist admitted to wanting to know more about how two women come to fight in a shower, and Schwartz replied, "The premise of the episode is Yvonne Strahovski's character has to go back to her high school reunion, where she was not so popular nor nearly as beautiful, and there's a mission there, and Chuck has to go as her date. And they are shadowing Nicole Richie, who is this girl in high school who tortured Sarah when she was there. She's married now to Ben Savage of Boy Meets World, which I think qualifies as the oddest television couple in some time. While there, things go awry, and the old high school shower becomes the location of a seriously wet showdown." Speaking to how much Chuck will contain story arcs in Season 2, Schwartz remarked, "What we found last year was we had a lot of success and we sort of built into these larger story arcs, so while there still will be 'missions-of-the-week' kind of component of the show, it's all under the umbrella of this larger story which gets started in the very first episode and will be driving us through the entire season. So I think the entire season, even though we will be seeing these sort one-off kind of villains of the week, nonetheless every week will contribute to this larger storyline of this agency Fulcrum, the rebuilding of the Intersect computer, all that kind of stuff is going to build itself into the narrative of the show. The mythology of the show is really going to deepen this season." Chuck has been off the air since January, but Schwartz said that rather than having an extended version of a "previously on" at the start of Season 2, "Our previously on is Chuck being dangled out of a window by Michael Clarke Duncan telling the story of how he got there." In a very unusual programming decision, The CW is airing Gossip Girl against Chuck this fall, even though Schwartz executive produces both series. Asked to talk about having to compete against himself essentially, Schwartz said that even though, "It's a good problem to have, I would rather not have to do that. But they are very, very different shows." Schwartz then couldn't resist joking, "It's awkward. Zach and Blake [Lively] are friends, and it's gotten really ugly," to which Levi followed, "'Friends' is a very loose term at this point!" After continuing the joke with, "It's contentious now," Schwartz admitted, "I begged everybody to not have that happen. It's a high-class problem, and hopefully both shows will be able to find their audiences and survive." Levi paused and then added, "We have different demographics. I think the people that are really into Gossip Girl are really into Gossip Girl, and the people that are really into Chuck will leave us for Gossip Girl. That's the kicker, unfortunately." Schwartz turned to Levi and said, "But there will be an arc for you [on Gossip Girl]"

More from the TCAs: Love Triangle, Guest Stars, Videos, Etc. Of all the shows affected by the writers’ strike, NBC’s Chuck took one of the hardest hits. The show was just really hitting its stride when the strike cut it short, and its final two episodes aired in a sort of bizarre Chuck sandwich. My biggest question for the show heading into season two was whether people would even really remember it exists. But Josh Schwartz, Zachary Levi, and company are setting out to make sure we remember the show Schwartz calls “my little baby.” With a new framework for the series, and a bevy of guest stars — including Nicole Richie, who gets into a shower fight with Sarah — lined up for appearances, Chuck is looking to be back with a bang. Want to hear a little of what’s coming up for the show? To hear what Schwartz, Levi, and Yvonne Strahovski spilled at the TCA press tour, just read more. - There will be no hesitation jumping right in to what’s been happening with Chuck since we last saw him. “Our ‘Previously On’ is Chuck being dangled out of a window by Michael Clarke Duncan, telling the story of how he got there,” Schwartz said.
- After we’re all caught up, the show will move quickly into determining Chuck’s fate. Once the new Intersect is up, Chuck won’t be so necessary anymore, and Casey will be asked to “disappear” him — a mission complicated by the fact that Casey is actually starting to like our nerdy antihero. The whole season will explore the show’s mythology a bit more, with deeper story arcs to go along with the missions and villains of the week.
- Another thing Chuck will have: romance, and not least because Chuck’s college girlfriend Jill (played by Jordana Brewster) will be back in the picture. “We had planned to bring her back at the end of last season if it hadn’t been for the strike,” Schwartz said. “It’s going to be a huge arc for us and really set the show off in a new direction.” As for Sarah’s feelings? “I love me a love triangle,” Schwartz said. “This is somebody who has a legitimate threat — she is beautiful and cool and smart and dynamic. She gets some information about what Chuck may actually do for a living, which means he can have like a real relationship with her. So it’s a real threat to the [Chuck/Sarah] romance.”
- Chuck’s also going nuts with the guest stars — not just Richie and Brewster but also John Larroquette, Tony Hale, Michael Strahan, Michael Clarke Duncan, Melinda Clarke, and Ben Savage, who plays Richie’s husband in the fourth episode. Oddly enough, I may be most excited about Strahan’s episode, if only because it will introduce us to the Mighty Jocks, the Sports Authority-esque sales team that shares strip mall space with the Buy More. But there’s also the hilarious idea of Larroquette as Roan Montgomery, legendary seducer of women, who may have had a relationship with hardened government operative General Beckman.
- Sarah’s getting a new cover job and a new cover uniform, Yvonne Strahovski told me — and while she was mum on the details (other than that she prefers the color scheme to her Weinerlicious getup), Levi said Sarah’s newly employed at a Pinkberry-esque frozen yogurt joint.
- Schwartz said there will be “11 percent more Captain Awesome,” and he’ll take his shirt off within the first seven minutes of the first episode. (Is that a threat or a promise?)
Are you ready for a Chuck with more guest stars, more story arcs, and more romance? I’m pretty sure I am. Sound off below! Zac also talk with Access Hollywood about Chuck, the writers’ strike, and what to expect in season 2: To Watch: CLICK HERE!

Chuck - Latest from Kristin Tessa in Albuquerque, N.M.: Kristin, thanks for the Chuck scoop from Comic-Con! The panel was amazing, but I have to ask: Who is doing the same-sex kissing this season?! They never said!Yeah, and I'm not really sure I was supposed to let that cat out of the bag, but I can tell you that the two kissers are the fine (and I do mean fi-yeene) fellas who got the most raucous applause during the panel. A little Adam Baldwin and Zachary Levi tonsil hockey anyone? Obviously, the way in which this happens is not anywhere near a blossoming romance, but it is hot and ridiculous and hilarious, and I think you're gonna love it, along with all the rest of the goodness for the new season! By the way, if you want the full Chuck panel from Comic-Con, it is here. And thanks to all of you who attended! Heath in Boston: So excited about meeting the Awesomes this season on Chuck. But are Ellie and Awesome really going to make it to the altar? This coming season will not be all smiles, so Captain Awesome is going to head to the most and least likely person for advice on Ellie. Any guesses as to who he turns to? Source: E!Online

Chuck - Latest from TV Guide
"The Buy More smells just like Best Buy," you say? Please elaborate on your TCA set visit and throw us Chuck fans a bone! — Calvin Matt: Yes, the video crew and I visited the Buy More set during TCA week, and there I interviewed Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez and Adam Baldwin. (Remind me that Yvonne was MIA and I shall smack you.) Scoopage-wise, I am sad to report that what Ms. Strahovski told me at TV Guide's Sexiest Stars party — that Sarah will move in with Chuck — has not yet come to pass, and production is at least eight episodes into the new season. What's up with that? Series creator Josh Schwartz tells me the plan still is for the secret and the agent to cohabitate, "but not for a little while."
