Episode 4.04: Eggtown (Kate-centric) Airdate: February 21, 2008 - 02/06 - Kate's need to get information out of the hostage may jeopardize her standing with Locke -- as well as with Sawyer. Guest starring are Ken Leung as Miles, Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday, Rebecca Mader as Charlotte, Shawn Doyle as Duncan Forrester, Susan Gibney as Melissa Dunbrook, Traber Burns as judge, Fred Q. Collins as bailiff, Beth Broderick as Diane Jansen, Tania Kahale as nanny and William Blanchette as child.
Source: ABC Click Here
- 01/23 - When Kate eventually gets the flash-forward treatment, expect the episode to address how the freckled fugitive -- on the run for torching her dad while he slept -- was free for that teary reunion with Jack. "How is it she's not in jail?" [Evangeline] Lilly asks. "Did she already serve her time? Was she pardoned when she got back?" Another burning Kate question: Who is the "he" referred to by onetime commitment-phobe Kate when she implied to Jack that someone was waiting for her at home? "Kate's kind of got her s--- together," Lilly says, "and the reason she's coping quite well is that person."

- 01/02 - [Episode 4] had one of the best endings I've seen. Sawyer and Kate fans will not be happy! [The episode] features an amazing twist.

- 10/14 - The woman we saw on the balcony is called Susan and she is one of the lawyers on Kate's trial.

- 10/14 - Down in the underground parking lot for the capitol building, near the guard booth and lower entrance off Miller St., a clean-shaven, leather-jacket wearing Jack has a brief conversation with the striking, poised Kate we saw at the end of Season 3. Jack steps away from an older, brown pickup truck, not unlike the one Locke drove in one of his flashbacks, to talk to Kate. There's some awkwardness, but there are also some smiles. Eventually, Jack helps Kate get into a yellow taxi cab, and watches as it drives away. Does this basement parking lot scene come before or after her chaotic courtroom arrival, or even in the same year?
Source: Hawaii Blog Click Here
- 10/06 - Lost took over much of the Capitol District in downtown Honolulu today, including parts of the Hawaii State Capitol and the nearby Laniakea YWCA. Deep inside the Capitol, a police interrogation. Across the street, a courtroom. But out front, it was a madhouse. It was the trial of Kate Austen, and it was a flash forward. For Episode 4 of Season 4, the Capitol building played a Los Angeles courthouse this morning in a scene so dramatic it was reported to real newsrooms around Honolulu. Action is called. Kate arrives in a black Lincoln Town Car, with Los Angeles police cruiser and motorcycle escorts. A mob of people, plus journalist and TV news crews (news vans from channel 6 and 19 were on the scene), are waiting. The people boo, hiss, shout "Murderer!" from behind the barricades as Kate is ushered inside. At first blush, it sounds like it could be a flashback, relating to one of Kate's many pre-crash crimes. But I have it on good authority that it was indeed a flash forward. although that fact may not be readily apparent as the story unfolds!

- 10/03 - They're currently shooting Episode 4, and multiple sources confirm that it's a Kate-centric outing that features flashbacks and/or flash-forwards.

Episode 4.06: The Other Woman (Juliet-centric) Airdate: March 6, 2008 - 02/26 - Juliet's past comes back to haunt her (and a few others) when someone she would rather not see again resurfaces with orders to foil Charlotte and Faraday's mission. At the same time, Ben makes an intriguing offer to Locke that could spell even more trouble for the so-called rescue team.
Source: TV Guide Click Here
- 02/26 - [Juliet's] upcoming flashback [episode] is entirely located on the Island. And yet it guest stars Alan Dale as Charles Widmore. She's going on a little field trip to the Orchid Station. As in the station unveiled this summer at Comic-Con, with the "highly volatile and potentially dangerous" research-and them creepy numbered bunnies. I'm also hearing something about a field of skeletons... I'm told she's the one who initiates the kiss [with Jack].

- 02/23 - Juliet receives an unwelcome visit from someone from her past and is given orders to track down Charlotte and Faraday in order to stop them from completing their mission -- by any means necessary. Meanwhile, Ben offers Locke an enticing deal. Guest starring are Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday, Rebecca Mader as Charlotte, Alan Dale as Charles Widmore, Andrea Roth as Harper, M.C. Gainey as Mr. Friendly/Tom and Brett Cullen as Goodwin.

- 10/14 - Chandley Price - mid 30s to early 40s. Female. She is tough, no-nonsense and beautiful in an unadorned way. She is a therapist by profession and yet could benefit from some therapy herself. The qualities that make her a leader and effective at seeing into other people also cause her problems in her own life -- she can be overly controlling and obsessive. Her strength of personality is undeniable. Recurring role.

- 11/18 - Fans of the show will be happy to know that we're wrapping up filming on episode seven, which happens to be a Sun/Jin episode, called "Ji Yeon."
Source: Daniel Dae Kim on his MySpace page Click Here
- 11/18 - A fan translated a Korean article, this is an extract: "When [Yunjin Kim] received her script, she got shocked to find out the title of her episode; 'Jiyeon', and it is also the name of Sun and Jin's baby. Yunjin is surprised because the name of Yunjin's character in her [new movie 'Seven Days'] is Jiyeon, too. Jiyeon is name of Korean females, and I think it's kind of common name but not that popular one."

- 11/03 - The street scene appears to be the exterior counterpart to the toy store scene they filmed the day before. We see Jin come out the door with, yes, a giant stuffed panda bear. He's helping his plushy new pal into a taxi cab when a guy speeding past on a blue moped knocks his cell phone out of his hand. As he stoops to pick it up, the taxi cab takes off with someone else inside. Jin runs after the cab, yelling angrily, and to no avail. Cursing, he smashes his phone to bits on the street. [...] Many [crew members] had to rush off to report to the day's second shoot: a scene with Sun, Yunjin Kim at a funeral.

- 10/30 - The [Toys N Joys] store was only slightly rearranged, the Lost set crew covering up brand names and logos with random Korean art and signs. Details of what transpired behind the store's cluttered windows when cameras rolled are unsurprisingly slim, but I'm told it involved a big, plushy panda.
Source: Hawaii Blog Click Here
- 10/30 - Blog reader Alicia Chang and her coworker Shannon Fera did some scouting this morning, and it looks like filming is currently underway at Toys N Joys on Waialae Avenue. They're speculating that it's part of a flash-forward scene, and I have to agree. Somehow I don't think that a 'Charme Beaute Salon: Room 3 Upstairs' would be commonly found in South Korea...

- 10/29 - Kiwi stuntwoman Zoe Bell [...] said from Los Angeles yesterday that her next project was in Hawaii filming episodes of Lost, starting next week. [...] Bell described it as "a little acting role" that would involve some stunt work.

- 10/21 - Huston - 50s, male, Caucasian, weathered face, salt and pepper hair, a man who immediately commands great authority but someone you don't want to cross. He has a job to do and he doesn't allow anything to get in his way - even the death of his employees. Guest star. Doctor - Male, early 30s, Korean. Professional and accomplished, a calming presence in times of crisis. Working his regular shift, he gets more than he bargained for. Must be able to speak Korean. Shopkeeper - Male, Korean, any age. Pleasant, eager to please the customer and make a sale, cool under stress, able to deal with difficult customers and keep them happy. Must be able to speak Korean. Regina - Late-20s to early 30s, any ethnicity. Tough, formidable, someone who could take an order and execute it flawlessly but who is now a shell of her former self; nervous and paranoid.

Gainey as Mr. Friendly/Tom, Mira Furlan as Danielle Rousseau, Tania Raymonde as Alex, Blake Bashoff as Karl, Marsha Thomason as Naomi Dorrit, Ken Leung as Miles Straume, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Kevin Durand as Keamy, Anthony Azizi as Omar, Fisher Stevens as George Minkowski, Grant Bowler as Captain Gault, Jill Kuramoto as female anchor, Galyn Gorg as nurse, Starletta DuPois as mom, William P. Ogilivie as Gus, Francesco Simone as Arturo and James Locke as mechanic.

- 01/30 - Andrew reveals: I worked as an extra on Lost for the 8th episode of the upcoming 4th season, and I can confirm that it is a Michael-centric episode that takes place between the time he left up until present time on the island. I was one of the extras in NY where Michael ends up and meets Tom. On the set there was a lot of talk about how Tom could be there and there were the theories of the Orchid going around.
Source: Lost Spoilers Click Here
- 01/23 - The eight-episode run also holds the key to where traitorous Michael has been since last seen sailing off in the Others' boat with son Walt at the end of Season 2. Sources say Michael will prove to be integral to what is currently the season's cliff-hanger-esque Episode 8.

- 12/13 - Looking for actors from Tunisia for looping/voice over session. Must speak Fluent French.

- 12/02 - Although Lost production has essentially wrapped for the year, cameras are still rolling here and there for mobisodes, pick-ups and reshoots.[...] I got an email from Brian and his friend Joel this morning. Here's what they saw: "They were shooting a bunch of scenes with Harold Perrineau coming out of a NYC apartment building, getting in a green car, reading some folded paper that he pulled out of his pocket, and speeding away in his car down the street." A brief scene, to be sure, but it obviously connects to the New York scene they filmed a few blocks away on Nov. 15. Note that the green Dodge Aspen that Michael was driving last night was also part of that earlier shoot, where I'd picked up talk of a car crash. I knew the car wasn't long for this world (thanks to the friend of a friend of a Dodge Aspen owner), but I didn't know until now that it was Michael behind the wheel.

- 11/18 - [Cynthia] Watros and [Harold] Perrineau will show up in Episode 8.
Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide Click Here
- 11/18 - From Fiji to New York City, it's been a busy week for Lost. The production returned to Chapin Lane (which previously played Bangkok in a Jack flashback) and the area around Mark's Garage to recreate the Big Apple. Streets were lit up with the Christmas spirit, and people bundled up for the imaginary winter cold. The omnipresent green newsstand was also standing by. A narrow alley, a busy street, a New York Yellow Cab. What could possibly happen here? As it turns out, the "where" and "what" weren't the half of it. It's the "who" that's the real surprise. Over the course of the evening, I and another Lost fan who lived in the apartment building across the street spotted a veritable parade of familiar faces. Harold Perrineau seemed to be the center of attention, which is hardly a surprise since we've seen him in Manhattan. Indeed, his clean cut look suggests that this is a flashback. But who should he meet in a narrow alley, but one M.C. Gainey. And it's not a friendly encounter, either, involving a gun, and a fistfight. The sounds of the confrontation echo down Honolulu streets. Christmas lights are strung everywhere. Smoke machines blanket the ground with white fog. Lights and camera cranes are brought in, as older cars are fitted with New York plates. And what's this? A car crash?
Source: Hawaii Blog Click Here
- 11/18 - Kewalo Basin, the small commercial harbor in Kaka'ako, was transformed into the Port of Suva, Fiji's largest port and gateway to its capital city. It was hard to miss the huge "PORT OF SUVA" signs added to the old Kewalo Shipyard building. The freighter Kahana was docked, and a thatched-roof pavilion and Fijian tour bus stood by. Is this Naomi's freighter? Even though she said the wreckage of Oceanic Flight 815 had been discovered in an ocean trench off Bali, the pilot had said he had turned back and was attempting to reach Fiji when the plane broke up over The Island. Or could it be another ship, and another time? Who ends up in Fiji, and when? All the answers will come in due time. But whoever is on board, I'm sure he'll make a splash.
Source: Hawaii Blog Click Here
- 11/12 - Ryan from Hawaii Blog revealed: First, the setting was a port somewhere in the South Pacific, second was the presence of a huge Freighter. Could this be the freighter that brought the Minkowskites to the island? Let's not forget that the Oceanic 815 wreckage was also discovered somewhere in the South Pacific.
Source: Lost Spoilers Click Here
- 11/11 - There is a mini-cliff-hanger at the end of Episode 8, but it's like the end of an exciting book chapter; it's not the end of the novel.

Question: I've been in London for four weeks and have dropped your name multiple times to Brits obsessed with Lost. Surely, recruiting overseas Ausholes earns the name of the person on the freighter! — Elizabeth Ausiello: Actually, it earns you something even better: some exclusive casting prattle! I have it on good authority that Nestor Carbonell has inked a deal to reprise his role as ageless island dweller Richard in at least one of this season's final five episodes. In confirming the news, exec producer Carlton Cuse (i.e., the good authority I spoke of earlier) described the former Cane thesp as "a tremendous actor" whose "return will lead to some very interesting revelations."
Question: I need to know who is on that boat on Lost! — Kelly Ausiello: Well, Kelly, there’s Sayid and Desmond (1996 and 2004 editions) and the corpse of Fisher Stevens and some guy named Keamey… and I know that’s not who you mean, but the identity of Ben’s boat buddy is one scoop that Team Darlton is not letting slip, at least not until tomorrow night. In the meantime, try this Lost head-scratcher on for size: I have it on good authority that an upcoming, post-strike episode features both a pair of Arabic-speaking, horseback-riding Bedouins and a luxury doorman of British extraction. Without knowing whether it’s a flashback or flash-forward, whose episode could that be? I had an extra bowl of crazy this morning, so I’m going with a consciousness-imploding guess: Charles Widmore, who is: A) a shadowy figure who has been coming into focus in recent weeks, B) a rich British dude and C) perhaps interested in those polar bear skeletons Charlotte found in the deserts of Tunisia, no? Any more sane guesses? Post 'em here!
Question: Any Lost news? — Franci Ausiello: You know that series-regular death I alluded to a few weeks back? Well, tomorrow night's the night! But riddle me this, Lost fans: When is a death not a death, but a brand-new mystery all its own? Meanwhile, I was going to close this week's column by revealing the identity of the remaining members of Lost's super-cool clique, the Oceanic Six, but most of you seem to have it already figured out: *o* *a* *** **e **l* **** *i***.

Question: How about you answer questions about other shows besides Lost and Grey's Anatomy?— Holly Ausiello: You're going to make me choose between those two? OK, I pick Lost. In their weekly podcast, Team Darlton announced that the code name for this year's season-ending twist is "The Frozen Donkey Wheel." Interpret as you like. Oh, and here's the kicker: It's not even the last scene of the episode!
Question: Jack is my constant. Will my constant get a centric episode this season? — Laura Ausiello: Yes.

- 03/17 - Sayid is indeed in Episode 4.09. Sayid is one of the Pallbearers at his former love, Nadia's, funeral. According to other sources Ben was also seen "close by" and ties in with recent spoilers and photos posted here from Ryan in with Michael Emerson was spotted. Ishmael Bakir - Middle Eastern, 40s, should have a slight natural accent, a high-ranking businessman who carries himself with a sense of quiet menace. We get the impression that this distinguished man has the capacity for great violence. Desk Clerk - African, female, any age, French-speaking. Cold to some guests, but gracious to the wealthy. Question: What's this I'm hearing about a major kiss in Lost's season finale? — David Ausiello: More like a "spectacular kiss" — Damon Lindelof's words, not mine. In the new issue of Lost magazine, DL teased, "Romance is always blooming on and off the island. And I hereby promise you one of the most spectacular kisses you've ever seen on the show in this year's finale." Naturally, I pressed DL's partner in crime, Carlton Cuse, for further details on the earth-shattering smooch, to which he replied, "I can disclose no more details other than to say it's one of my favorite moments of the whole series so far. And contrary to some speculation, it is a male/female kiss." OK, so it's not Mr. Friendly and his little Rent Boy. Who does that leave? Oh, right: Pretty much every other couple on the frakkin' show! Damn you, Team Darlton!

Episode 4.10: Something Nice Back Home (Jack-centric) Airdate: May 1, 2008 - 04/23 - TV Guide caught a scene shot for the May 1 episode in which Jack collapses, unconscious, on the beach. Expect Juliet to take charge and perform emergency surgery. "I get to go into Jack's guts!" says a gleeful Mitchell, who adds, "After reading this episode, I realized that Juliet really does truly love him." Even so, Jack's flash-forward revolves around Kate.

- 04/23 - "The Shape of Things to Come" will be followed by a flash-forward installment for Jack. "We're starting to close the loop on the end of last season," says [Matthew] Fox. - 03/30 - Lost returned to the Windward Community College campus in Kaneohe today to film another scene at the "Santa Rosa Mental Institute." A sign was set up in back, fronting a sometimes soccer field, and Jack's old pickup truck was parked nearby. Filming took place inside Hale Kuhina, the continuing education/employment training building, with Jorge Garcia and Matthew Fox. A man dressed as a doctor (Dr. Stillman, perhaps, given recent casting calls) and a couple of burly orderlies were also sighted milling about. Hale Kuhina is within a stone's throw of the Hawaii State Hospital building and shady tree that served as the Santa Rosa lawn where Hurley received a mysterious visit from Charlie. On Friday, Lost set up shop in Hawaii Pacific University's Frear Center, located in an office building in downtown Honolulu. The scene took place inside "St. Sebastian Neuro Clinic," so of course Matthew Fox (Jack Shepherd) was spotted among dozens of extras dressed in medical garb. But also featured prominently was John Terry (Christian Shepherd). Brief shots were filmed at the clinic's front desk, and inside Dr. Jack Shepherd's office.

Episode 4.11: Cabin Fever (Locke-centric) Airdate: May 8, 2008 - 04/23 - The last three episodes include only one flashback, which the producers say will be a mythically significant outing for... someone. The rumor: Locke.

- 04/06 - They filmed at Leilehua High School today (04/03/08). There was a high school logo that said "Cowin Heights Knights." [They filmed] some kid coming out of a locker.

- 04/03 - Waimano Home is a former mental institution turned government office and laboratory hidden high in the mountains above Pearl City in Leeward O'ahu. Its drab, concrete walls and stark halls made it the perfect location to shoot a hospital scene. The wardrobe suggests that we'll be visiting the 1950s, and possibly another decade in the past. The where and the when, though, is nowhere near as interesting as the who. The flashback revolves around John Locke (Terry O'Quinn), and it's a flashback to the very beginning of his story: his birth. We'll also see Emily, his mother, in her younger days (presumably before her time in Santa Rosa, and before she betrays John Locke for his father's kidney hunt). But someone else is wandering the hospital: the ageless and eerie Richard Alpert, looking quite dapper in a suit.

- 03/30 - Mother - Caucasian, late 30s, with red hair and blue or green eyes, Frazzled, annoyed, trying to keep her daughter under control and tired of dealing with her when she seems to only make one bad decision after the other. Gellert - Any ethnicity, 30s-40s. High school chemistry teacher, intelligent and understanding, he offers a bright student the chance of a lifetime but becomes resentful when the offer is refused. Florence - Any ethnicity, late 30s. A foster mother who is worn out and overwhelmed. She is charmed by an unexpected visitor she anxiously hopes might help her situation, but she turns punitive when it doesn't go well. Susie - Any ethnicity, 30s to 40s. A nurse working the late shift who unexpectedly has to help deliver a baby. Professional and compassionate, she tries to help the mother adjust to her new reality.

- 03/17 - Five-year-old Boy - Caucasian, green eyes, sweet, shy, tentative and smart. Has to take a test and becomes nervous about passing. Teenage Boy - Plays as 16 or 17, Caucasian, green eyes. Angry, a little nerdy, defiant and rebellious. There's a lot more to this kid than meets the eye. Tries to fight back against older, stronger boys but is pushed into a locker. Teenage Girl - Plays as 16, Caucasian, red hair (or willing to dye hair red). Emotional, prone to dramatic gestures, passionately in love and fights with her Mom about it.

Episodes 4.13 and 4.14: There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3 (Season finale, part 2) Airdate: May 29, 2008 from 9 to 11 p.m. - 04/24 - [...] It was the return of the Oceanic Si . The moment when Jack, Sayid, Hurley, Sun, Kate, and Aaron arrive back in the real world, a moment that the flash forwards seem to have been building backwards toward since the end of Season 3. Their rescue is as huge a media circus as you'd imagine, with a throng of reporters and photographers on hand as they step off the plane. A military transport plane. That brought them back to the United States. Via Honolulu. Actually, the dramatic disembarkation was to be filmed later. But today's filming focused on an elaborate Oceanic Airlines-coordinated press conference. Or, as my two sources put it, "a big press con." The world's media was there for answers, as well as several familiar faces: Veronica Hamel (Margo Shephard), Cheech Marin (David Reyes) and Lillian Hurst (Carmen Reyes). But as Lost fans know, the answers they got merely raised more questions. Ms. Austen, how old is Aaron? Ms. Kwon, what happened to your husband? Mr. Reyes, what of your fortune, and this hefty airline settlement? The answers they give, I dare not tell. But suffice it to say, the press is as skeptical of the official story as Lost toughest fans. (And Hurley's hackles are raised by a query that's been raised by viewers and comedians alike since Season 1.) Sayid toes the line, but isn't happy about it. And yes, the Oceanic Six make surprising mention of some long, lost friends. Three of them, at least, whose deaths occurred in each of the first three seasons.

- 04/23 - The May [29] finale will complicate the Jack-Kate-Sawyer love triangle by featuring "a spectacular kiss" and elaborate on Jack's flash-forward ambition to journey back to the Island. "This year's finale will sum up exactly how difficult it may be to accomplish that," says Lindelof, who adds this cryptic response to speculation that flash-forwards will vanish once Island present meets off-Island future: "There could easily be a time when the word flash becomes irrelevant."

Question: In last week's Ask Ausiello, you said Nestor Carbonell would be appearing in Locke's flashback episode of Lost on May 1. Did you mean May 8? — Craig Ausiello: Sure did! Sorry for any confusion that caused. Let me make it up to you with some scoop: In the same episode — in a flashback scene that perhaps represents the narrative device's greatest leap in time so far on the series — we'll bear witness to a historic event that has significant repercussions on "present-day" events on the island.
