Morgan Freeman Released From Hospital
Morgan Freeman is a free man once again.
The 71-year-old Oscar winner has been released from Memphis' Regional Medical Center, just four days after his car-flipping crash and three days after undergoing four-and-a-half-hour surgery for his injuries, hospital spokeswoman Kathy Stringer confirmed.
"I left the hospital today just after 12 noon, Memphis time," Freeman said in a statment to E! News. "I'm doing very well. I feel really good.
"I just really, I thank the staff at Elvis Presley [Hospital] and many, many thanks to my many well-wishers. It's great to know people care about you."
The Dark Knight star, who was said to be "doing well" and "in good spirits" while recovering earlier this week, will likely have to wear a neck brace for the next six to eight months, according to Freeman's attorney, business partner and ad hoc spokesman of recent days, Bill Luckett.
"The doctors have said it will be six months to a year before he plays golf again," Luckett quipped to USA Today. "He hates that."
Luckett also cleared the air on reports that Freeman had severed a nerve in his arm.
Although the actor's publicist, Donna Lee, announced on Tuesday that Freeman had undergone surgery "to reconnect nerves and to repair damage to his left arm and hand," Luckett insisted that "nothing was severed."
"A nerve can be bruised or stretched. It was injured but not severed."
Freeman's exit is a bit of good news for the actor in an otherwise rough stretch.
Earlier today, Luckett confirmed that Freeman and his wife of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee, were planning to divorce and have been quietly separated since December 2007.
Shia LaBeouf’s 911 Call — Listen Now!
Shia LaBeouf’s 911 call that was made on the night of his spectacular truck-flipping crash in Hollywood has been obtained by Extra.
The female caller, who was not involved in the accident, says, “A car flipped over…it’s upside down. I don’t see any police here!”
Reports surfaced soon after that Shia’s pinky would need to be amputated because of the accident, but his rep said, “that story is a complete fabrication, absolute gossip.”
Shia, 22, was cited for DUI following the crash and is now wearing a large cast on his arm as a result of the accident.

Shia LaBeouf’s Broken Fingers — FIRST PICTURES!
Shia LaBeouf shows off the extensive injures to his left hand while taking a quick smoke break outside a hospital in Los Angeles on Thursday. He still has blood stains on his jeans!
This past Sunday, the 22-year-old actor was arrested for suspicion of a DUI misdemeanor after a collision that resulted in his truck flipping upside down.
Shia’s boss, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay opened up to Access Hollywood about the situation. Here’s what he had to say:
On Shia being sober during the time of the incident: “He was not drunk. He was drinking hours and hours before.
His passenger and Transformers co-star Isabel Lucas (not pictured) walked away with minor injuries, as did the passengers in the other car.
On writing in Shia’s injury into the movie: “I spoke to him yesterday in the hospital. His two fingers are pretty mashed, but we’re figuring out a way to shoot around it, kind of write it in the story.”
On a conversation he had with Shia about safety days before the crash: “We had a little heart to heart the week before when he bought a brand new motorcycle and I [said] ‘Dude! You cannot ride that motorcycle! If you crash, you put 1,500 people out of work,’” the director recounted. “He said, ‘Ok, I won’t ride it, I won’t ride it, I’ll just drive my truck.’”
On Shia being a good kid after all: “The kid really has his head together and you know, he’s only 22. He’s doing a great job on this movie. He’s really matured since the last one and I love working with him.”
