OK well ive just checked on Moonlight-Detective.com and they have posted some updates! - Sci-Fi Channel Snail Mail Campaign – Despite the recent statement by Michael Ausiello at TVGuide.com that the Sci-Fi Channel has, in his words, “passed on picking up new episodes, but there’s still a chance it could air existing episodes”, our sources have NOT confirmed his statements. We are still sending SNAIL MAIL ONLY to:Sci Fi Channel
21st Floor 30 Rockefeller Plaza New York, NY 10112David Howe, President Mark Stern, Vice President of Programming Thomas Vitale, Senior Vice President of Programming
- Grassroots Effort Aimed at DirecTV – Our latest campaign endeavor is reaching out to DirecTV (the satellite company) in the hopes they will consider partnering with the Sci-Fi Channel to finance the pick-up of Moonlight. You can find more information here. The email address to contact DirecTV is: the101@direcTV.com. This email address was set up specifically for us, to voice our requests for them to help renew Moonlight. After emailing DirecTV, please also send snail mail to:CA Office:
2230 East Imperial Highway El Segundo, CA 90245NY Office: 1211 Avenue of the Americas 6th Floor New York, NY 10036
- The CW - We have been informed that the CW has officially passed on picking up Moonlight, so it is time to halt our endeavors in their direction. Instead, we encourage Moonlighters to concentrate the Sci-Fi Channel and DirecTV, as noted above.
- Words of Encouragement from TPTB at Moonlight Central – Folks were asking in the first week or two of the campaign about receiving word from Joel Silver’s office or the creative team behind Moonlight, wanting words of encouragement for our efforts. The following are words of support we’ve received over the past couple of weeks:From Leeser’s show contacts: “They are grateful for our support and haven’t said to quit.”
The first reaction from Joel Silver’s office when told about our efforts was, “Wow.” The response from our WB contacts was, “You’re fighting the good fight”.
- General News and Tidbits – As of Monday, May 26, the sets at Warner Bros. were being torn down; however, we did learn that both Mick’s and Beth’s apartments will be archived, meaning they will be put into storage. The soundstages where all the Moonlight sets were housed were needed for other productions.
Lastly, please note that all the other networks (FX, USA, TNT) haven’t said no. They just aren’t in actual negotiations with WB and Silver Pictures!
Well, i hope that has given some of you some hope! There is so many fans out there working there asses off to save OUR show!! There is still this petition you can sign!! Every little helps! www.ipetitions.com/petition/moonlightback/signatures-1.htmlSO FAR IT HAS A TOTAL OF 13,318 signatures, which is an improvement form a post i made a few weeks ago with 9926 signatures SIGN, SIGN, SIGN!!!!!

Sci Fi Likely to Pass on Canceled Vampire Drama 'Moonlight'Bad news for those passionate Moonlight fans, who've been working hard to get the canceled CBS vampire drama picked up by another network: My high-ranking source at Sci Fi tells me the network probably won't be interested. Despite the hopes kindled by producer Harry Werksman at last month's MoonlightCon in Los Angeles, who said "talks" were in progress to find a home for Moonlight which apparently included Sci Fi (which would move the show to New York if it picked it up), Sci Fi is choosing to concentrate on original programming. "We do get a lot of requests to pick up canceled genre shows such as Surface, Jericho, The 4400, etc.," my Sci Fi connection told me. "However, we remain focused on our own slate of new original programs in various stages of production and development." Meanwhile fan organizers are scheduling nationwide rallies in support of Moonlight, including one in New York City's Central Park, for June 14. Rallies and rallyers are being coordinated at the Moonlightline forum. Sophia Myles, who plays Beth on the show, emailed Moonlight United to express her gratitude for everything the fans are doing. The fans, she said, are what have "kept her going" during all of this. Sci Fi's Inward GazeSci Fi has been expending a great deal of effort on original programming over the past several years, including high-rated unscripted shows, in-house series, and original movies. New Sci Fi original pilots in development at the moment include Caprica (the Battlestar Galactica prequel), Revolution (about a struggling Earth colony, starring Peter Fonda), and Warehouse 13 (described as part X-Files, part Raiders of the Lost Ark, starring C.C.H. Pounder). Sci Fi's other original series, all returning this summer, include Ghost Hunters International, Stargate Atlantis, Eureka, and a new version of Scare Tactics; as well as Battlestar Galactica, about to end its season and slated to return in January. Again, nothing is official; Sci Fi could still surprise us with an announcement that it's been wowed by fan reaction and will pick up the show after all, but the chances of that happening are now much more remote. It's worth remembering that Sci Fi has the Stargate franchise because it picked it up from Showtime. Sci Fi also picked up Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Sliders for new original episodes, but all these series moved to Sci Fi years ago when the network was less confident about its own programming. The CW Also PassedThe CW has already passed on Moonlight: CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler said a pickup by The CW (which is co-owned by CBS and Warner Brothers, which produces Moonlight) was unlikely. "It had a very passionate fan base, and that's a good thing," Tassler said back on May 14, a day after CBS's cancellation of the show was confirmed. "We just had to make a lot of tough calls." Added Tassler, "I loved that vampire -- what can I tell ya?" A lot of people love that vampire, and the fervor with which people are expressing their love for the show and need to bring it back seems to surprise even the fans themselves. "I, for one, have never felt so passionately about a show," said one fan on my comments board. "Most of us had never thought of contacting networks or show sponsors," said another. "Moonlight is so much more than just a show," exclaimed a third -- "it’s a phenomenon!" The fan effort to get Moonlight picked up by Sci Fi or another cable network like F/X or A&E, and sponsored by DirecTV, will continue. For more on the campaign, click here

Variety article about Moonlight fans"Moonlight" fans: Devoted, grateful and worthy of a little respect"Moonlight" devotee Barbara Hamlin of Jacksonville, Fla., was among those who headed to L.A. this pastMoonlightcon weekend to attend the MoonlightCon 2008 at the Westin Hotel near LAX. Part of the "Moonlight"-mania included a trip to the Warner Bros. lot to see the hallowed ground where the now-canceled show was shot. Update: Hamlin reports the MoonlightCon's auction of "Moonlight"-ana items raised $6500 for the Los Angeles Food Bank. Confab also held a blood drive, appropriately enough, that yielded 50 pints of donations to the American Red Cross. Variety and this blog have been a bit snarky in poking fun at "Moonlight's" die-hards with a "get a life" tone. But we should never scoff at the kind of passion that smallscreen skeins can generate. Without that kind of fandemonium and earnest appreciation for the medium (which are two different things, admittedly), the TV biz would be bereft indeed, not much different than any other assembly-line product. Hamlin sent along this appreciation for the kindness shown to her and other fans by the "Moonlight" crew during their bittersweet tour of the show's set, shortly before the bell tolled for good. The crew members appeared to appreciate the importance of showing a little respect to those who took the time to appreciate their handicraft. The fans of Moonlight gathered in Los Angeles and had scheduled a Warner Bros tour for Friday, May 23rd. This event was scheduled well ahead of “Vampire Down,” May 14th, the Wednesday when CBS officially canceled Moonlight. Even when the fans were told by one of the members of Moonlight’s crew that they were instructed to dismantle the set Tuesday, May 20th, they still wanted to go to Warner Bros to at least get a glimpse of the building Moonlight was filmed. The Moonlight crew knew of the fans arrival date…and here’s the REALLY COOL PART…they did start dismantling the set; however, they waited until that Friday before they began to dismantle Mick St. John’s apartment (glossed by the fans as the Fortress of Style) and Beth Turner’s apartment. To say shrieks of delight and thunderous applause of appreciation ensued would be an understatement. The Moonlight crew even went so far as to give fans various props as keepsakes of their time on the soundstage of Moonlight. For their graciousness and generosity of spirit to make an extra effort to help fans of Moonlight have a wonderful experience that they will long remember, WELL DONE and BRAVO!!!

This was posted on IMDB.
Fans Are Actually Making A Difference.!
From About.com Today (6/3/08):
Mark's Sci-Fi / Fantasy Blog From Mark Wilson, Your Guide to Sci-Fi / Fantasy. Moonlight Fans Look to Sci Fi
Die-hard fans of CBS's canceled vampire detective drama, Moonlight, are turning their attention to the Sci Fi Channel, which may be considering the possibility of thinking about maybe picking up the show. Or not.
Pondering the future of canceled but popular shows is like reading invisible tea leaves, because discussions are always tentative and firm commitments rarely materialize. What we do know is that Harry Werksman, who is one of the show's writers and executive producers (and a veteran of Farscape and Earth: Final Conflict, among others), told Moonlight fans recently that "talks" are under way for season 2, and that if the show were picked up by Sci Fi its hero, Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin), would likely be transplanted to New York City, where Sci Fi is headquartered. (Mick has talked about vampires having to move on because of their longevity, though he seems to really like L.A.)
Again, nothing is even close to agreed yet. Fans are reaching out to other networks as well, though TV Guide's Michael Ausiello has proclaimed that Moonlight on The CW "ain't happening" (true that: they've got more fantasy shows than they want already). A push to get DirecTV to sponsor Moonlight, which has a precedent with Friday Night Lights, is also under way.
Werksman also stated the obvious, which is that there can be no Moonlight without O'Loughlin. Hidden in that statement is a reminder that rest of the cast – which was replaced once already en bloc at the pilot stage – is probably expendable. Would Moonlight fans be willing to sacrifice the brassy Beth (Sophia Myles) to keep their Mick fix? Smart money says yes. But the chemistry was developing nicely between Beth and Mick in the bottom half of season 1, so producers will most likely try to keep that dynamic if Myles stays available. Beth needs to move on from Buzzwire anyway, so a move to New York will be good for her character as well.
Werksman also said that the season 1 DVD, including some commentary tracks from O'Loughlin, is scheduled for September. Meanwhile, if a TV deal falls through they'll start thinking about shopping a Moonlight movie, with the high level of fan support a strong selling point.
Fans looking to convince Sci Fi to pick up Moonlight have a number of options, including sending a "perpetually cool" postcard (pdf) to the network's headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York 10112. You can email them too and let them know you'll follow the show to Sci Fi.

MORE GOOD NEWS POSTED IMDB!! Now this is very hope-provoking! This woman spent 20 minutes with Alex last week, courtesy of a "very dear" friend of hers! She has a photo of herself with him in her post: forums.moonlightline.com/viewtopic.php?f=429&t=9242. Although this is not 100% confirmed yet (Lees is working on the confirmation as you read this!), it certainly doesn't take a leap of faith to simply contact TNT. Even Lees had mentioned in her latest update, "While the main focus of our efforts is on Sci Fi and DirecTV, it won’t hurt to continue to encourage other networks to take a look as well", with TNT being mentioned on the list of "other networks"; so I think we should definitely make them a contact point, as well... and keep alert for Lees' next update on what she finds out about all this!!! ... Author: racelvr24 Post subject: TNT could be in the running to pick up Moonlight Posted Wed Jun 11, 2008 12:03 am Hi everyone, I'm new to posting, but have been lurking for sometime. I have it on very good authority that TNT network could be interested in picking up Moonlight. It might be a great idea to put them on the list of networks to send letters to. The following contact info can be found on TNT.TV and if you go to ask TNT you can find the email link. How can I contact TNT? The easiest way is to send us an email by clicking the "Request Support" tab above. If you prefer regular mail, please send comments and questions to: TNT 1010 Techwood Dr. NW Atlanta GA 30318 Viewer Comment and Question Line is 404-885-4538.

More news posted by someone on IMDBforums.moonlightline.com/viewtopic.php?f=429&t=9155&sta rt=0 Author: Ter05 Post subject: DirecTV called me! Posted: Mon Jun 09, 2008 4:19 pm I received a phone call from DirecTV telling me he received my letter about DirectTV being a sponsor of Moonlight and he wanted me to know they would do everything possible to make it happen. I can't remember his exact words as I was so shocked to get the call, but he quoted from my letter about the 7 to 8 million fans and used the word sponsor. He told me they appreciate input from their customers. When I wrote to them, I put my account number on the letter and told them I was writing as a satisfied DirecTV customer. I don't remember if I put my phone number on it or just the account number. It may just be a PR move but darn, someone read the letter! So everyone who has DirecTV write and put your account number on your letter so they KNOW we are serious. ~ So there reading peoples letters! This could actually be a good sign.!

There are plans to have rallies all over the USA next Saturday, June 14th. If you go to this forum forums.moonlightline.com/viewforum.php?f=440 you can find out more on the areas holding rallies. The plan is to raise awareness that the show has been cancelled, since CBS doesn't seem to want the general public to know. We are also going to be giving people information on how to save the show.
