Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that there may be life for the canceled CBS series “Moonlight.” Could “Moonlight” find a place on the schedule for Media Rights Capital’s two hours of programming on the CW?
“Moonlight” bosses sent this statement to E! yesterday:
It’s true. We found out about an hour ago that Moonlight has been officially canceled.
We are truly saddened by the news and are sorry that we won’t get the chance to live with our wonderful characters and follow them on their adventures for a second season.
We really want to thank all our loyal fans for their undying love and support of the show. We never would have made it this far without them.
In vampire solidarity…rah, rah!
Gabrielle Stanton & Harry Werksman
This is all very suprising, given the fairly substantial (and very loyal) fan base for “Moonlight.” Fans of the vampire drama have been flooding forums and leaving comments on blogs to voice their displeasure with CBS to axe the series.
Deadline Hollywood Daily’s source said that “there is a chance, only a chance” that Media Rights Capital “may elect to take Moonlight as one of those two hours” of programming on the CW on Sundays.
TV Week, however, seems to have the scoop on those two hours of Media Rights Capital programming on Sundays - and it doesn’t include “Moonlight.”

I almost hesitate to pass this along, for fear of fostering false hope. But a Moonlight source confirms that Warner Bros. is shopping the show around to other outlets, one of which is the CW. (DeadlineHollywoodDaily says that Media Rights Capital, the firm contracted by the CW to program its Sunday-night block, is among those being wooed.)
The rumored possibility of salvation came just as Warner Bros. was poised to start striking down the vampire drama's sets. Instead, they will hold off on the razing until Friday. — MWM

OK EVERYONE!!! I was just on sidereal, and someone posted this. CBS cancelled Moonlight. They're crazy, yes. Moonlight consistently does well in it's Friday timeslot-- not a very competitive day, but still. It's a great show that has a LOT of devoted fans. Devoted fans are devoted fans, period. Now, Warner Bros. is shopping the show around to other outlets, one of which is the CW. (DeadlineHollywoodDaily says that Media Rights Capital, the firm contracted by the CW to program its Sunday-night block, is among those being wooed.) The rumored possibility of salvation came just as Warner Bros. was poised to start striking down the vampire drama's sets. Instead, they will hold off on the razing until Friday. CW NEEDS the final results of this poll to decide whether or not they'll take on Moonlight. There's only about 440+ people who've voted to get Moonlight on the CW since they haven't really publicized this move much yet. So if you love MOONLIGHT and want a second season for it, GO AND VOTE YES and SPREAD THE WORD. They still need thousands of signatures. *REMINDER: YOU'LL NEED TO REGISTER WITH CW TO VOTE THE POLL CLOSES 5-22-08 AT EXACTLY 2:31AM lounge.cwtv.com/showthread.php?p=5178176#post5178176

I don't think it's moving to the CW cause the network itself may be off soon!!
