Supernatural Producer Promises "Suspenseful" FinaleMay 14, 2008 Supernatural's Dean (Jensen Ackles) is down to his final 24 hours! It's been a year since he made a deal with demons to save the life of his brother, Sam (Jared Padalecki), by sacrificing his own — and his debt is due. "The boys race like hell to save him," says exec producer Eric Kripke. Their last two attempts failed miserably, but now, Kripke reveals, "they know who holds the deal and how to kill them." But don't expect salvation for the Winchester brothers. "We leave them in a pretty suspenseful place," Kripke says. "I hope it will drive everybody crazy until we're back in the fall." Jared Padalecki Speaks about SupernaturalJared Padalecki, one of the stars of The CW’s Supernatural, told reporters that he will begin shooting the upcoming fourth season in July, assuming that there’s no actors’ strike. “As of right now–yeah, I guess the strike is a huge issue,” Padalecki said in a group interview on the set of his film Friday the 13th in Austin, Texas, on June 6. “But as of right now, we’re supposed to start the first week of July, because they want to have it airing with Smallville, and Smallville starts shooting really early, so they want us to start shooting really early also so they can air new episodes of each together.” Padalecki added that he hasn’t seen any scripts for the new season yet, nor has he spoken with series creator Eric Kripke. “The only person I’ve really talked to is [co-star] Jensen [Ackles],” who is spending his spring hiatus shooting his own horror movie, My Bloody Valentine 3-D, in Pittsburgh. “He and I have just been keeping in touch, you know? But I haven’t seen scripts or read scripts or heard any ideas. So I’m completely [in the dark].” As for Ackles’ future on the show (spoilers ahead!), his character, Dean Winchester, was last seen in the season finale writhing in hell after dying as foretold. That has alarmed fans who worry that Ackles won’t return. “I’m assuming [that's] clearly not [the case],” Padalecki said. “I think his plan is to be in Vancouver when I’m in Vancouver. I pray to God [he is], because [if not,] then that would mean that I, all day, every day, [will have] no one to [share the show with]. I’ll bear the burden [on my own]. But, no, I’m sure Jensen is going to be a huge part of the show, as he always has been. Same as always. Just in hell [laughs].” Supernatural returns in the fall in its regular Thursday 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. –Patrick Lee, News Editor Source: SCIFI Wire & Spoiler TV

Supernatural Lets Katie Cassidy GoJune 23, 2008Sexy Supernatural thief Bela (Lauren Cohan) has already been sent to hell — unlike Dean, she won’t be released — and now the show’s creator Eric Kripke tells TV Guide it’s bye bye to sexy demon Ruby (Katie Cassidy) as well. “She’s great, but this was unfortunately a financial decision — purely budgetary, because creatively she was terrific," Kripke said. "I have nothing but great affection for Katie, and she was great for the show. It was a very difficult business decision about the realities we are in." Though the budget’s the same as last year, the show films in Canada and is suffering from a lousy exchange rate. There will be female characters, Kripke promises. But expect more of the love ‘em, leave ‘em or kill ‘em variety. “We have a plan that’s as exciting as any we’ve ever had of how to thread new characters in some unexpected ways,” he said, adding that the season opener will have a couple of “bombshells that will set the show off in a new direction.” Just don’t mess too much with those Winchester boys! — Ileane Rudolph Source: TV Guide

Jared Padalecki on The New Season of SUPERNATURAL!09 June 2008 by Stephanie Sanchez SUPERNATURAL fans have been going crazy since the season finale of the show this past May. Since the cliffhanger of SUPERNATURAL Season 3 ending with Dean (Jensen Ackles) being sent to Hell, fans of the CW series have many questions on their minds. Questions like - how long Dean will be in Hell, what will he be like when he comes back, will he come back, and how will his time away affect his relationship with Sam (Jared Padalecki)? On the set of Friday the 13th this past weekend, Jared Padalecki spoke about the upcoming season to the IESB. When do you go back to start shooting [Supernatural]?Jared Padalecki: The strike is a huge issue, but as of right now, we're supposed to start first week of July. They want to have it airing with SMALLVILLE and SMALLVILLE starts shooting really early so they want us to start shooting really early also so they can air new episodes of each together. Have you seen any scripts for the first couple of episodes?JP: No, I haven't seen anything. I haven't talked to Eric [Kripke], the only person I've really talked to is Jensen [Ackles]. He and I have been keeping in touch. But I haven't seen scripts, read scripts or heard any ideas. Fans are freaking out because, at first, they thought Jensen was completely off the show, but clearly not.JP: I'm assuming clearly not, I mean, I think his plan is to be in Vancouver when I'm in Vancouver. I pray to God not because that means all day, every day, I'll bear the burden, but no, I'm sure Jensen is going to be a huge part on the show like he always has been. He's just in hell. In a recent interview with TV Guide, show runner Eric Kripke described Dean's visit to Hell, "Dean spends a lot more time in Hell than anyone's probably thinking," he said. "Dean could spend — in human time — six months, maybe more. In Hell time, who knows how many years or decades that might be. I won't tell you how he gets out, but he will emerge to a different landscape. A lot has changed since he's been away, and he has to readjust to his loved ones after being gone for so long." So what does this mean for fans of the show? You'll just have to wait and see come Season Four of UPERNATURAL! Source

Traci Dinwiddie Takes Psychic Role in Supernatural Season 4 OpenerJuly 5, 2008 Traci Dinwiddie, a vivacious thirty-five year old brunette, has been cast in the guest starring role of ‘Pamela Barnes’ in the season four opener of the hit CW/ Warner Bros series Supernatural, which stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as Sam and Dean Winchester: two brothers who have been raised in the ‘family business’ of saving people by driving around a black ‘67 Chevy Impala with a trunk load of weapons hunting down supernatural creatures, demons and monster. In the episode titled Lazarus Rising which began filming on July 2nd and will air on the CW Network on September fourth, the beautiful and exotic looking Dinwiddie plays Pamela Barnes, who is described in the casting sides as being ‘kick ass hot looking in a Gina Gershon kind of way’. Pamela also just happens to be, in the words of the Winchester brother’s good friend Bobby Singer (played by Jim Beaver), ‘the best damn psychic in the state’. Pamela has been contacted by her old friend Bobby to help he and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) track down demons and to possibly learn more about the fate of Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) who was last seen in the Supernatural season 3 finale ‘No Rest for the Wicked’ hanging by hooks pierced through his flesh after being dragged into hell by demonic hounds sent to fetch his soul in consummation of deal he had made to trade his soul for the life of his brother. Traci Dinwiddie, who describes her own spirit as ‘fiercely creative’, brings a wealth of talent and experience with her to her guest stint on Supernatural as psychic Pamela Barnes. Dinwiddie has made guest appearances on such noted series as 'Dawson’s Creek', 'One Tree Hill', Taken Away and 'Target Earth'. She has appeared in numerous big screen movies such as ‘Mr. Brooks’, 'The Notebook' and having lead roles in ‘End of the Spear’ and the just completed ‘Three Words and A Star’. Dinwiddie is also a very familiar voice to anyone who follows Anime, having done the American voice over work for such Anime films as 'Voogie’s Angel', 'Earthian' and has just completed work on ‘The Diamond of Jeru’. Dinwiddie is also an accomplished stage actor as well having had the lead in such productions as ‘Always..Patsy Cline’, ‘A, My ‘Name is Alice’ and ‘Psycho Beach Party’. Supernatural is currently in reruns of season three on the CW Network on Thursday nights at 9PM EST. Supernatural season 4 premieres on the CW Network on Thursday September 4th at 9PM EST with the season opener, ‘Lazarus Rising’. Source: TV Guide

Supernatural Signed to 5 seasons plus spin off and possible movie?Catching up on news- Eric Kripke signed a deal at the end of June with Warner Brothers guaranteeing a 5th season of Supernatural to wrap up the series. Kripke has always said the series in his mind would cover 5 seasons. The exciting news is that the deal is open for sequels and spin offs! This may be part of what Jared Padalecki was alluding to on his recent trip to Australia. See the video below for more from Jared. Watch the Video HEREThe article from Variety:"Supernatural" exec producer Eric Kripke is scaring up an overall deal at Warner Bros. TV. Under terms of the two-year exclusive pact, Kripke will continue to exec produce and showrun CW's Thursday staple "Supernatural," which enters its fourth season this fall. Kripke also will start to develop projects under the deal. There's no word if one of the new titles might be a "Supernatural" spinoff; Kripke has said in the past that he's interested in doing a prequel of sorts that takes place in the Old West and centered on the show's mythology. Kripke's at work crafting the show's fourth season, following up on the season three cliffhanger that sent Dean (Jensen Ackles) to hell. Beyond creating "Supernatural," Kripke's credits include adapting "Tarzan" for the WB, as well as the feature "The Boogeyman." Before making a splash in TV, Kripke was known for his short films, which included Sundance entry "Battle of the Sexes," as well as "Truly Committed," which won the audience award at Slamdance.

Supernatural Creator Teases "Hell"ish New SeasonJuly 16, 2008 Jensen Ackles by Sergei Bachlakov/ The CW"The season opens with some bombshells!" teases Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, who already jolted viewers when he sent Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) to Hell in May's season finale. Season 4 (premiering September 18 at 9 pm/ET, The CW) opens four months later, when Dean wakes up with no memory of his torment. "What happened to Dean in Hell and to [younger brother] Sam [Jared Padalecki] when he had to be a hunter by himself will slowly come to light," Kripke says. "It gives us a nice opportunity for an internal struggle for Dean and for the brothers to surprise each other." Katie Cassidy (Ruby) and Lauren Cohan (Bela) are both gone, but Jim Beaver and Steven Williams are back as geezer demon fighters Bobby and Rufus. Get set for a revealing flashback to the Winchester parents' teen years, an homage to 1930s monster flicks and a bloody Halloween show. — Ileane Rudolph Source: TV Guide

Genevieve Cortese joins CastHmm, maybe losing one's sibling to the eternal fires of Hades ain't the absolute worst thing in the world? I mean, just look at the sympathy cuddling! Wildfire spitfire Genevieve Cortese has been cast on the CW's Supernatural in the role of Kristy, a small-town waitress who gets romantically involved with Jared Padalecki's Sam sometime after the brooder's brother Dean's death. Thus far, Cortese is slated to at least appear in the Season 4 premiere, airing Sept. 18. Source: TV Guide

Supernatural Boys Dish on New Season, Possible SpinoffJuly 28, 2008 OK, count me in as Comic-Con's latest convert, because not only do the panels and the swag rule (I love you, Dexter bobble head), but I also got a little one-on-one time with the swooniest brothers the small screen has ever seen (sorry, Bo and Luke Duke): Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles of Supernatural. Boss Eric Kripke joined the boys backstage to tackle my Q's, and the three of them spilled lots of scoop, including where the new season is heading, talk of a Ghostfacers spinoff and a 7-foot teddy bear, so click in for some Super scoop! Where Season Four Begins: We’re joining up with the Winchester boys four months after we saw Dean hanging from chains in that blistering-hot place run by that dude Beelzebub (aka hell). Too bad for Dean, though, as hell seems to run in dog years. So what’s on deck for these poor, miserable souls? Nothing good... Welcome to Rock Bottom: Over the first half of the season, we will learn what Sam did while he was by himself and what Dean endured in hell. “Sam’s turning a little reckless now that his brother is dead,” Jared revealed. And during his four months alone, Sam has cut off contact with everyone and has become wildly suicidal in his hunting attempts. The Brothers Have Problems: The boys used to have an open relationship, but “now they have secrets from each other,” says Kripke. The good news? If you’re looking for that great (smartass) Dean charm, Jensen reassured us: “He’s still the same shoot-first-ask-questions-later kind of guy, but he’s trying to figure out how he got back from hell.” So it looks like Dean’s mystery will be a large focus this year. Kripke added, “The big question is not does he get out, but how he got out.” More Ghostfacers! A.J. Buckley, Travis Wester and Brittany Ishibashi showed up to the Comic-Con panel, so you'd better believe we're going to see more of the Ghostfacers in the future. Said Kripke, “We’re always looking for ways to bring the Ghostfacers back in the actual series...We’re working on some new material, either webisodes, potentially cell phone content or basically an off-network Ghostfacers’ series." He likes the idea of them actually going to real haunted houses, though it seems the actors aren't too keen to be around the non-CGI ghouls. Now for the Five W’s, Supernatural's Fourth Season: Who’s Coming Back This Season? Nicki Aycox will be returning for at least one episode to reprise her role as Meg Masters. Also, we’ll get more John and Mary Winchester. Still, fellow Jeffrey Dean Morgan fans, don’t get too excited—we’re going to be seeing them at age 18, when the lovebirds met. What About the Brotherly Love? Looks like this is the season of individuality; Sam and Dean aren’t going to be as close. Sniff. When Does Season Four Premiere? It’s slated to return Thursday, Sept. 18, so prepare for what is said to be an “apocalyptic” season. Where’s the Horror? Sometime this season we’re going to get a classic horror-film-style episode set in black and white. It’s said to be an homage to Dracula and Creature From the Black Lagoon. Why Is There a 7-Foot-Tall Teddy Bear Roaming the Streets? Just another day in the life of Sam and Dean, really. However, this stuffed toy isn’t going to be fun to play with. Source: E! Online
