PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - "CSI" co-star Gary Dourdan has been charged with felony possession of heroin, cocaine and ecstasy stemming from his arrest last month, prosecutors said. The 41-year-old actor was arrested after police found him asleep in his car in Palm Springs on April 28. He was allegedly parked on the wrong side of the street with the car's interior light on.
Prosecutors said Dourdan is scheduled to appear in court in Indio, about 130 miles east of Los Angeles, on May 28. The criminal complaint was dated Tuesday.
A call to Dourdan's attorneys wasn't immediately returned early Thursday.
Dourdan has played crime scene investigator Warrick Brown on CBS' "CSI" since 2000.

CSI: Spoilers for the Season 8 Finale Tuesday, May 13, 2008 The time has come for CSI fans to say goodbye to Warrick Brown. As reported last month, Gary Dourdan, who plays the audio-video analyst, will not be returning in the ninth season of the forensic drama given that the 41-year-old actor and CBS could not come to terms on his contract. This means that this week's installment not only marks the conclusion of season 8, but also marks the departure of Dourdan on the series he has been a part of since 2000.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead.
The 17th installment of season 8 called "For Gedda" focuses on Warrick as his future as a CSI remains in jeopardy. When Lou Gedda (John Capodice), who first appeared in the episode "Cockroaches", is found dead, Warrick is accused of murdering the famous Vegas gangster and even he is uncertain of his guilt or innocence.
Meanwhile, things get even more intense as the rest of the forensic scientists investigate a case that kicks off at a funeral where mourners have come to pay their respects to the diseased husband of Carolina Bell (Donzaleigh Abernathy).
Six large men, who seem to be football players, serve as pallbearers that would carry the coffin toward the gravesite. But as the pallbearers continue their solemn journey, something (or someone) drops out of the coffin and the crowd is shocked to see a body of a skinny Caucasian corpse wearing nothing but a pair of underwear. This is clearly not Carolina's husband and before mourners can do more grasping, Carolina's husband's body falls out, landing on top of the unidentified dead man.
Carolina is distressed and the pallbearers want to put her husband into the coffin and be buried properly. The CSIs remind them that they have to investigate and that the person who put the second corpse into the coffin will be held responsible. However, they don't want someone held responsible. Instead, they want someone dead for doing this.
Expect a riot to ensue on the season finale of CSI, airing this Thursday at 9pm ET/PT on CBS.

CSI: The Most Popular Show on EarthThursday, June 19, 2008 CSI may not be “America’s Favorite Show” but it has certainly earned an even more prestigious title. The CBS forensic series created by Anthony E. Zuiker is now officially the world’s most watched show, according to the New York Post. Based from the statistics of ratings firm Eurodata, which ranks shows by their worldwide ratings, CSI has conquered the top spot by drawing 83.9 million viewers in 2007, beating out its spin-off series CSI: Miami and favorites such as Desperate Housewives and House. It is the second year in a row CSI has won that accolade. ABC dramedy Desperate Housewives earned the title of top comedy series with 61.5 million viewers, while The Bold and the Beautiful was tagged as the most watched soap in the world with 26.2 million viewers. On the other hand, American Idol, which is the biggest show in the United States, did not make the cut because different versions of it are seen in different countries. CSI premiered in 2000 and has quickly earned a solid fan following. The series centers on the investigation of a team of Las Vegas forensic scientists as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious crimes. Two years later, CBS went on to produce a spin-off series, CSI: Miami, which is set in Miami, Florida, and then CSI: NY, which is set in New York City. Considered as a global phenomenon, the CSI franchise has earned impressive ratings in the United States and in other countries as well. Internationally, all three series of the CSI franchise currently rank among the top 20 U.S. series in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Each series in the franchise is licensed in over 180 territories.

Jorja Fox's Heart Belongs to 'CSI'Thursday, June 26, 2008 Jorja Fox left CSI last November, leaving fans with a promise that it wouldn’t be the last time they would see her character Sara Sidle. For seven months now, the 39-year-old actress has savored the “break from the commitment of a weekly television series.” Although not yet ready to do a new television show, she’s ready to hold up to the end of her bargain as she returns for the ninth season of CSI. ”It will be so hard to follow up CSI," Fox told TV Guide. "No matter what I do, it's big shoes to fill. If I'm going to do TV, then my loyalty and my heart belong to CSI." Warning: May contain spoilers. It seems that Fox couldn’t stay away for long. As reported previously, she’ll be returning in the premiere episode of the new season, which is probably the last time viewers will see the entire cast of CSI together. "When I left in October, it was so decisive--everybody got me a goodbye cake. It's a surprise for me to be back, especially this soon," Fox said. "The kindest thing that the writers did for Sara Sidle was to walk her out in one piece. I had an amazing, beautiful, honorable, dignified exit." "When I heard I was returning, there were certain parts of last season that I felt Sara would be aware of," she added. "I watched as much [CSI] as I could.” In addition to the first episode of the new season, Fox’s return will include the third episode, which she filmed during the last week of May. "It involves an old friend of Sara's who has to confront a life or death situation with his wife," Fox explained. To find out more about Jorja Fox’s return to CSI, grab a copy of the June 23-29 issue of TV Guide

'CSI' Star Gets His Own StarThursday, July 03, 2008 William Petersen, who plays forensic entomologist and CSI's central character Gil Grissom, is set to get his own star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year. The honor is in part due to CSI's massive stranglehold in the title of the world's most watched show, which it has held for two years in a row. The Illinois-native is one of the 25 celebrities who will have their names and persons immortalized in the famous walk, as picked by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame Committee. Chuck Lorre, who also had a stint writing for CSI, will also be receiving his star. According to statistics from ratings firm Eurodata, CSI: Las Vegas was watched by an estimated average of 83.9 million viewers worldwide, edging out CSI: Miami and House. Desperate Housewives, who remains to be the most watched series in the U.S. attracted some 61.5 million viewers. In the past, Petersen's portrayal of Grissom has earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series in 2004 and a 2002 Satellite Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Series, Drama. As the central character in CSI, Grissom has appeared in every episode of the show's eight seasons except four, in “Hollywood Brass," from season five, "Gum Drops," from season six, and “Sweet Jane” and “Redrum” from season seven. His character is so popular that Bravo ranked him 89th on its list of Greatest Television Characters of All Time.

William Petersen Leaving 'CSI' Mid-SeasonWed, July 16, 2008 William Petersen is leaving CSI. Peterson, who has played investigator Gil Grissom on the CBS procedural since its premiere in 2000, will make his exit from CSI in the middle of the 2008-2009 season. Petersen will return occasionally to make guest appearances, and he will stay on as a producer. The decision to leave was wholly Petersen's, who has previously shown signs of CSI fatigue – the actor took a break from CSI in the 2006-2007 season to perform in a play. He was replaced by Liev Schreiber. The final episode for Gil Grissom will be the tenth episode of next season, and will most likely air in the early parts of 2009. Former co-worker and flame Sarah Sidle (Jorja Fox) and Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke) will both be involved in Grissom's final episode. CSI will remain unchanged, according to producers, though Petersen will be sorely missed by fans. Procedurals are able to weather the departures of actors somewhat more easily than their serial counterparts. Look at a show like Law and Order, which has remained successful over two decades, despite a high cast turnover rate. Gil Grissom may well be a beloved character, but the stories that CSI tells are not contingent on Grissom. The crimes and the investigation are the stories, the characters mere vessels in which the audience learns about the crime. The producers of CSI aren't relaying information as to how Grissom will eventually be leaving the show. He's a man in transition, having been through extremely difficult personal times in recent episodes. Fans can expect Grissom's decision to weigh heavily on his mind in the first half of next season. A new male investigator will be cast to replace the departing Grissom, though no possibilities for this role have yet been offered. CSI's ninth season will premiere on CBS on October 8.
