Heroes - New Interview with Sally Champlin How did you react when they called you back after such a long time of being off the show? Were you surprised?
I was very surprised, especially when I found out I had to look the same as I did the last time I did the show (I'm thinner now). There are some very creative make-up & hair secrets that I can't go into.
It's been a wonderful return for Lynnette. The coolest thing is that I really like her. She's quirky and funny. Lynnette pleases me most because she comes from a joyful place and can't help but spread that around. She's a great person with many gifts most folks don't know about.
Some back-story on her:
Did you know that Lynnette frequently sings at her boyfriend's bar, a couple of blocks down from the Burnt Toast? She loves those old standards..... y'know, back when a song was really a song?
How many episodes will Lynnette appear in?
Two that I know about now.
How did it feel to put the apron back on and step back into the Burnt Toast Diner?
Like coming home to my own kitchen.
More back-story:
Lynnette is a fine cook, by the way. In fact, she's so good her boyfriend wrote a song about her called "Goodness in an Apron and a Push-up Bra."
Besides your return to Heroes, what other projects have you been working on?
I'm about ready to mix three songs that you'll be able to hear on my site real soon (check out
www.sallychamplin.com in a few weeks). I'm also rehearsing for some nightclub appearances in the L.A. area. Bookings will be posted on my site's calendar page. You can join me on Facebook too (http://www.facebook.com/sallychamplin too). Lots of great friends there.
What will your character be up to in this story arc, what is Lynette's role?
Boy, I just can't say. I'll give you a hint, though (I'm so naughty, giving you oblique hints you can only understand when you see the show).
Hint:
Hiro has a cute butt.
Which cast members have you been working with?
Boy, that could give away a lot too. First, Masi. That's safe to say. Then....hmmmmm. Let's just say I'm working with several of our Heroes, including the good, the bad and the beautiful.
Another totally obscure hint:
I sang a couple of songs with the character I call "Iago" last week but it wasn't onscreen. (Boy, I'd love to hear some guesses as to who you think I think "Iago" is!)
These fine artists are so gifted and funny. And the writing is always of surpassing quality. Our Heroes save lives in such interesting ways, don't you think?
What's going down at the Burnt Toast Diner, what is/are the episode(s) about that you appear in?
Ooooops! You know I can't tell you "what happens next"! However......
Last Hint:
As long as Lynnette lives and breathes, she'll be serving pancakes even a bad guy could love.
