omgg the Variable. I can't wait. I'm trying to stay underhyped for this one, but I can't help it. Lots of mythos will be shown here I hope.

Ok So i have decided. In a desperate act of some sort of unknown variable, (no pun intended) Faraday created new ways that could change the past. He must have panicked for whatever reason and believes that Jack and all can change the past and stop the pockets of energy from exploding. He claims he can stop it and therefore believed that by talking to younger Charlotte, he just may be able to get her to not come back. The problem with this is, this episode also proved that Whatever Happened, Happened scenario still exists. The reasoning behind this, is due to the fact that Eloise Hawking always remembered her younger self killing Dan. Therefore she did what she had to do from his childhood to become what he is today, a physicist so that one day, Faraday would make it to the island, time-travel back in time and get shot. Just like she told Desmond in Flashes Before your Eyes, he will one day be in the hatch pushing a button every 108 minutes. Faraday's rash behaviour will not change the future. Jack and all will attempt to do it, but their actions will cause the vary Incident that took place to occur. They were all meant to be there for this Incident to happen. There is no, what if Eloise didn't convince him to go to the island. There are no what if scenarios, it just happened, their every actions they have done in the past, and will continue to do have already occurred. They just don't know what it is and the implications of it all. With that being said Whatever Happened Happened still applies.

Eloise is a bitch! She could have changed the past....she's just not interested on doing it (or she knows that even if she does something different, what it's meant to happen will happen anyway?) I want them, Jack Kate, to change the future so badly!!!! Even tho they wouldn't met each other ever, and probably the decisiones they will make, and the life they will live won't be the best....I want them back at the present!!! haha. Lost is as confusing as always. Yet I think from this episode was pretty clear that the future can't be change....but with Lost u never know.

wow i did not see that happening. Widmore is Faraday's dad?! wow. And i cant believe she shot him, what a bitch!
Hes a bit of a weirdo ain't he. What i don't get is, when he was trying to play the piano and Eliose came in and startled him and he was like. "When did you get here?" And she said, i would have called, and he said "I wouldn't have remembered anyway." So then she started going on and on at him about going to the island.. HOW WOULD HE REMEMBER THAT CONVERSATION WITH WIDMORE? IF HE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO REMEMBER A SIMPLE PHONE CALL. I hate things that cant be explained. I think they messed up there.
Aaaaaaaaaaaanywho. Another thing that kind of annoyed me. When they first got on here and made a pact that they were going to recreate new identity's and blend in with the Dharma people... and he specifically said, we cant change ANYTHING to do with the future... Why all of a sudden does he feel he can change the Dharma station from being made? I mean, thats a pretty huge thing to change.
This episode kind of annoyed me.

How's it annoying? If anything he's just desperate and wants to change the past cause he wants to believe things will change. Earlier in Lafleur he said he wasn't going to tell young Charlotte about coming back to the island for her death cause he knew Whatever Happened Happened. Now He's suddenly having some sort of hope that time can change. He will attempt to change it, or Jack and all will, only to realize WHAT THEY DO WAS WHAT THEY ALWAYS DID.
Pre-destined choices are kinda tough to fathom. Because, the Losties' present is the past and WHH rule applies, they still have free choice. Yes they know what the future holds, but like say they try to kill Radzinsky. We all know Radzinsky dies in the 90's when Kelvin is with him in the SWAN and his stain is on the ceiling. When Jack and all shot at him, they may have tried to kill him, but he still wouldn't die. Cause he can't die in 77 when he dies in the 90's.
Now in this episode, Faraday was desperate to change time, and when his younger mother shot him, this proved that WHH rules still applies. She made the choices of sending her son to the island cause she knew that her younger self shoots his present self.
Also, he remembers the Widmore thing cause she reminded him off the job. I don't think he forgets everything, maybe the island forced him to remember that part of his life.
It was a brilliant episode, my favourite of the season. Pretty much everyone I talked to found it their favourite. Eloise's acting was awesome, going back and rewatching it when you see the way she handles her son's life throughout his childhood up until he was ready to leave for the island, she knew the tragic ending he was going to have. She always knew, and knew that WHH and it had to be done. This episode had some of the best acting with a flawless storyline. The whole time changing thing is once again to throw fans off and wonder if they really can change the past when all that they will do will create THE INCIDENT that occurred.

Since Faraday decided to go to the island, Widmore said his mind would be healed there, so I guess he just remembered everything perfectly thanks to the island. I hope Faraday's sudden change of mind on the future had some kind of cientific base (or a crazy island one). Even if he didn't success in this ep, maybe next ep someone else will.

Noo, he wasn't on the island when his mum told him to go, he as at home. So technically he shouldn't have been able to remember the conversation with Widmore, yet he did. I just think they messed up there. I mean, if he can remember that, he can remember a simple phone call from his mother telling him shes coming over.

It just kind of annoyed me, i don't know why. But i did enjoy it, it wasn't my favourite though. Thanks for trying to explain it to me Jeffy, but i still think they messed up with the memory scene.
