Current mood: anxious
Ok...
Since Myspace's server's are all muddled up (trust me, muddled is a word...) I have decided to post the songs up on purevolume.com
I made my website link the link for it, so check it out. Like most things, however, you may have to wait a few days for it to go through, but I'm hoping it will be up quickly.
On another note, Thanks to everyone who's been on here already. Your comments as well as your general support are awesome. This is definately a step out of my particular comfort zone, and every one of you is making it that much easier. Please continue to tell all of your friends to come check it out. If they're myspace-aholics, have them request me as a friend, send me an e-mail, comment...anything. As long as they're hearing the music and enjoy it, I'm happy.
Peace out, you punk bitches, 'Cause it's on like that.

Lastly, I just starting tracking on a new solo song, called "Searchlights". I'm hoping to get everything else done here in a week or two, so I'll try to get something tangible up for you to listen to ASAP.

photo shoot and more....
OK, so here's the skinny....
I posed in my sexiest pair of lace undergarments for some promotional photography earlier this week, under the watchful "eye" of Ms. Randi Kampeter. It was entirely too much fun and I can't wait to show you the results. We just have to find a way to wash seminal fluid out of an aperture lens (that was a joke.)
Also, I know I've been teasing you constantly with this whole "solo album" business. I mean not to string you along. I'm currently looking for a "financial friend" who wants to invest in me and my music, so until then, or until the Missouri Lottery stops being a huge douche nozzle, this will be the only place to hear my stuff. I AM DETERMINED to get this album out for all of you, as well as myself. I'm extremely proud of this and I want to share it with you all. So, as a result, I promise, that SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY, this album will see the light of day....
Lastly, make sure you check out this page for upcoming show dates, etc. And also, for those of you who are not yet aware, I also play in two other bands...axium (www.axiumrock.com OR www.myspace.com/axium) and MWK (www.midwestkings.com OR www.myspace.com/mwkmusic) So, check those pages out for show dates as well, and for Christ's sake, come see me. Grandma would've wanted it that way.
Love you all and thank you for the continued support

The Official Generic "BIG NEWS" Post
Today is February 27th, 2006, and here's what's going on in my world...
I found a financial backer. I am not at liberty to discuss him/her just yet...in due time. However, I am at liberty to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to him/her in hopes that he/she reads this and/or looks at this page.
I did some scratch track recording for the last two songs on the album, and I will be, barring any scheduling conflicts, recording these last two songs at the beginning of March in Tulsa, OK.
Lastly, I've been thinking of changing the name of the album from "A Second Chance At A First Impression" to "My Analog Heart". The former title is pretty obvious to those who know the story of David Cook, but for those who don't, it basically implies that this album is a new start for me. A chance, if you will, to branch out from the whole Axium thing and try something else.
"My Analog Heart", to me, symbolizes the whole "I wear my heart on my sleeve" mentality. Some view that as an old school, chivalrous thing to do, hence the "Analog" aspect. So "My Analog heart' suggests a few things about me.
Anyhoo, I need your input. Which title appeals to you more?
Remember, P Diddy said it best... Vote Or Die!
I thought I told you that we won't stop, I thought I told you that we won't stop....

DAVID NEWS : April 4, 2006
So, I finished the album artwork for my debut album, "Analog Heart". I'm putting it in the mail tomorrow afternoon, and so I should have them in hand, ready to roll by next month.
I can say with certainty that the album will be on sale through CDBaby.com, as well as on iTunes beginning next month, so for those of you who won't be seeing me in person, but want your fix o' the Dave, Be on the look out for that. Also, I am trying to get a website up, so that this myspace page will merely be a supplementary site. Anyone want to do that for me?
Hope everything is great we're you're at. I am extremely proud of this album. I've never worked so hard on anything before in my life, and hopefully it shows. I look forward to getting out and playing some shows for all of you, in hopes that you'll love it, run and tell your friends, and bring them the next time.
Thank you all for your support over the last 10 years, whether it was just on here, or through Axium or MWK. Let's keep this thing moving forward, shall we?

Just your garden-variety, everyday update...
So...I started doing some pre-production on some new songs tonight. Got one completely mapped out. The working title is "A Daily AntheM" (yes, the letter capitalization has some importance. ) Lots o' work to be done, but given that a new song from the David Cook camp hasn't been unveiled since the album release, I figured it to be relatively important. Important enough to let you in on, anyway....
hope all is well with you and yours.

The first three songs I'm tracking are called "A Daily AntheM", "Chandelier", and "The Downfall". I'm very excited about the new stuff, so you may be able to hear one or two of these new songs at a live show...hint, hint.
Take care, monkeys.

New Album Updates
So we're all but done with pre-production. New songs are coming together sexy-like. We're going in to do drums on September 8th and 9th on ten songs. They are as follows:
DISCLAIMER: These are all working titles and they are in no particular order. Also, any one of these songs may not make the album
A Daily AntheM
Precious Decline
Chandelier
The Downfall
Only If...
Better Late Than Never
We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping
Elizabeth
Never To Return
By The Fire, Gently Burning
I'm also toying with the idea of a live track version of one of the songs from "Analog Heart". We'll see how functional that idea is.
Lastly, I'm contemplating naming the album 'Optimistic To A Fault". Good idea? Bad idea? I want your input.
Later, taters.

the tracks, right now, in now particular order, are:
A Daily AntheM
Chandeliers (Monty's pining for 'Scandeliers')
The Downfall
Debutante
Elizabeth
Better Never Than Late
We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping
Eta Carinae
A Dirty Shame
Precious Decline
The album title is still up in the air. "Optimistic To A Fault" has been joined by "Remember This". thoughts, questions, concerns?
Right now, we're looking at a March release, but nothing's set in stone. could be earlier or later.
other than that, I hope everyone enjoys their holidays. take care and see you soon.
