Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter is a series of fantasy novels by Laurell K. Hamilton, narrated by the title character, Anita Blake. Anita lives in a fictional Saint Louis much like our own, save that, not only are things like vampires and shapeshifters real, but their presence is public knowledge and they are considered citizens of America, much like normal humans. The novels follow Anita's ongoing conflicts with the supernatural as she attempts to solve a variety of supernatural mysteries, come to terms with her own abilities, and navigate an increasingly complex series of romantic and political relationships. -- Books: 1. Guilty Pleasures (1993) 2. The Laughing Corpse (1994) 3. Circus of the Damned (1995) 4. The Lunatic Cafe (1996) 5. Bloody Bones (1996) 6. The Killing Dance (1997) 7. Burnt Offerings (1998) 8. Blue Moon (1998) 9. Obsidian Butterfly (2000) 10. Narcissus in Chains (2001) 11. Cerulean Sins (2003) 12. Incubus Dreams (2004) 13. Micah (February 2006) 14. Danse Macabre (June 2006) 15. I love them so much! I think Laurrel K Hamilton is a better writer then Stephanie Meyer. I'm not saying she's crap or anything lol and i'm most definitely hooked on these books I can't put them down! I lvoe her independent attitutude and how she can kick arse. It's all about girl power lol and i lvoe how people underestimate her just because she's a woman and petite.

lol I can compare who the hell I like And I didn't realise they were that old. I wonder when she's ever thinking of ending them seeing as the main characters can't die she could carry on forever if she wanted to. (Or at least till the day she dies lol)

^^ Anita's human, she can die ;d So far the first three books are like set over a period of a few months, not even a year, so im assumin the whole 17 books shes wrote so far are only set over a couple of years. We dunno yet... Bullet sounds like someone dies. lol I dont want them to end anyways! There amazing I've never read a series thats gunna last this long before, i mean, 19 books is amazing!! KEEP GOING LAURELL lol And don't compare! There completely different, theres just no need to bring Twilight up... i know your not so keen on them, but dont be mean ;d

You know the Lamia in book three? The freaky girl who turns into a half snake thing... well i wanted to know more about Lamia's because i didnt think that Laurell went into much detail about them and this is what i found out! Lamia/ lamiai- A vampiric woman, she is half woman, half serpent, and lives in caves, where she drinks the blood of children. She sometimes transforms into a beautiful maiden to seduce young men and also drink their blood. (Greece)*I didn't know that hehe Well... i knew the half women/half snake part and that she transforms into the a beautiful woman to lure men in, but i didn't know she lived in a cave... which makes sense when she lures Anita into that cave to kill her hehe And the part about drinking childrens blood, I'm not sure that was mentioned in the book but it makes sense and having those body guards too! I'm glad i found that information
