The Dark Knight - New TrailerMon, 05 May 2008 at 8:13 amA new trailer for The Dark Knight was released this past weekend, giving us a slightly bigger look into what is coming on July 18th. While we’ve seen a lot of Heath Ledger‘s Joker, the latest trailer gave us a little more on Aaron Eckhart‘s Harvey Dent, who ultimately becomes Two-Face. “I can tell you that, basically, when you look at Two-Face, you should get sick to your stomach,” Eckhart told the LA Times of his Two-Face appearance. Being the guy under all that, well, that was a lot of fun for me. It’s like you would feel if you met someone whose face had pretty much been ripped off or burned off with acid. I can’t talk about it beyond that because I don’t want to give away too much of the plans by Chris [Nolan].” “To me, this film is about how Batman feels about justice, how he takes care of the city, how he feels about the Joker when he meets him and sees what he is capable of doing. How he feels when Harvey Two-Face takes matters into his own hands. It’s not simple, and it gets ugly. I think people will be surprised.” Batman The Dark Knight New Trailer no.3 movie 2008

Michelle Williams’ Lazy SundaySun, 08 June 2008 at 3:01 pm Michelle Williams takes a leisurely walk through New York City on Sunday with her daughter Matilda, 2 1/2. At the Australians in Film 2008 Breakthrough Awards in Beverly Hills this past Thursday, director Gregor Jordan announced the formation of a Heath Ledger scholarship fund to help struggling Australian actors. Each year, one young actor from Australia will be given the chance to make it in Hollywood. Gregor, who befriended Heath after directing him in 1999’s Two Hands, said, “It’s going to involve a number of benefactors and there’s been a lot of interest already. I was talking to Michelle Williams, his partner and the mother of his child, today and Michelle has said she would be very proud and happy to be the first benefactor.” More Pictures HERE

Matilda Ledger Rides the Stroller CoasterMon, 09 June 2008 at 7:56 pm Michelle Williams takes a leisurely stroller through through New York City’s Brooklyn on Monday with daughter Matilda Rose, 2 1/2. The paparazzi have been following Michelle very closely the past six months for obvious reasons. It seems like photographers were hiding out while these photos were taken but Michelle has a sixth sense about cameras in the distance now! She definitely pointed the paparazzi out to her friend. Paparazzi spotted at 2 o’clock!!! And here’s a cute story from Britain’s Telegraph Magazine as told by Heath Ledger’s Casanova costar Sienna Miller: “Heath and I had this amazing night out in Venice with my mother. It had been pouring with rain. Heath ran out in the middle of St. Mark’s square [in Venice] and we were running around, and I slipped over. We all ran back to his [apartment] and he gave me these dry pajamas to get home in… [Two years later,] when he came over to my house last November, and he was having trouble sleeping, I gave them back, to help him sleep…When he died, I was so sad that I didn’t have these stupid pajamas anymore, so his father found them to give to me.”

Christian Bale's Heath angerJun 14, 2008, 4:00 GMT Christian Bale has dismissed claims Heath Ledger's death was caused by playing The Joker as "ridiculous". The actor - who stars opposite Heath in new Batman movie 'The Dark Knight' - is adamant Heath's death from an accidental drugs overdose in January had nothing to do with his role in the hotly anticipated movie. He told Total Film magazine: "It's not for me to tell anybody or to pretend to have insights beyond what I absolutely know, but my instincts are that the idea Heath was disturbed by playing The Joker is ridiculous. Heath was somebody who, like myself, acted for that immersion in a character. "It's not an unusual thing. And from working with him and knowing him, I don't think that was unusual for him at all." Shortly after Heath's untimely passing, it was revealed the Australian actor had complained of suffering from severe insomnia while portraying the comic book villain. It was alleged to be a reason why the 'Brokeback Mountain' - who was just 28 when he died - had started taking strong sleeping tablets. Several different prescription drugs, including Valium and the highly addictive sleeping pill Zoplicone, were found next to his body. Christian, who plays Bruce Wayne and his superhero alter-ego in 'The Dark Knight', has also promised film fans they will be blown away by Heath's performance in the movie. He added: "Heath's performance is fantastic. As was working with him and knowing him, he was great f***ing company - a wonderful guy. I hope this movie will celebrate his work." Source

The Dark Knight — The First Five MinutesWed, 02 July 2008 at 3:19 pmWatch the first five minutes of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight, which has resurfaced at OrlandoSentinel.com. (It was posted back in December also.) The footage features a few men disguised with clown masks, attempting a bank heist. William Fichtner is featured in the clip as one of the bank employees. Heath Ledger is also in this clip as The Joker. With less than three weeks remaining to The Dark Knight, Fandango, is already selling out dozens of showtimes. The film is outpacing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Iron Man and Sex and the City as Fandango’s fastest ticket-seller of this summer. “We are currently seeing a surge in advance ticket sales for The Dark Knight‘,” says Ted Hong, vice president of marketing for Fandango. “It makes sense that there’s a rush for tickets, as it’s the perfect movie to see on the big screen, as supported by our strong ticket sales for both traditional screens and the larger format in IMAX. We believe the film is appealing to both comic book and action fans, as well as casual moviegoers.”

Batman & The Joker Do Entertainment WeeklyThu, 03 July 2008 at 11:55 pmDirector Christopher Nolan spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the late Heath Ledger, who plays The Joker in the upcoming superhero blockbuster, The Dark Knight. Here’s what he had to say: On Heath’s commitment to his character: ”The guy had serious nuts. What I needed was someone who wouldn’t be afraid of the comparison with Jack Nicholson. And then I saw Heath’s incredible performance in Brokeback Mountain. Such a lack of vanity. This was an actor who wasn’t afraid to bury himself in his character — to a massive extent.” On having the same vision for the The Joker as Heath: ”We had the same take on the character. We didn’t have a script yet, but we had ideas. The idea of anarchy as an absolute. The idea of chaos as the most frightening thing to society. The idea of a motiveless criminal, somebody who just wants to watch the world burn.” On Heath spending months working with a voice coach fine-tuning the Joker’s cackling cadence: “He tried to articulate to me what he was doing with his voice, but it was sometimes hard to understand. He talked about ventriloquist dummies, the way their mouths moved, the way their voices wouldn’t appear to come out of them. He said he wanted the voice to have a mocking quality, a sort of disconnectedness.” On Heath splattering makeup across his face throughout the film: ”He started applying the makeup himself — just to see what it would look like if he put it on with his own hands. We talked about how streaking the paint could get across the idea of corruption, of decay.” To read the full Dark Knight article, check out EW.com.

Mary-Kate Comments On Heath Ledger’s DeathMon, 04 August 2008 at 5:52 pmMary-Kate Olsen claims she doesn’t know where Heath Ledger got the drugs that killed him, her attorney says in a statement. MK, 22, believes she has already provided investigators with enough “relevant information” but the New York Post has reported she is refusing to talk to federal investigators about Heath’s death until she is granted immunity from prosecution. Her lawyer Michael C. Miller said, “Despite tabloid speculation, Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger’s home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them. Regarding the Government’s investigation, at Ms. Olsen’s request, we have provided the Government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger’s death and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed. We don’t know the source of the information being quoted in the media regarding the Government’s inquiry, but these descriptions are incomplete and inaccurate.” DO YOU THINK Mary-Kate Olsen knows more about Heath Ledger’s death than she’s letting on?
