Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey plays a single guy looking to win over his bridal best friend in Made of Honor, which hits theaters May 2. “I love romance, absolutely,” the self-confessed serial monogamist tells Mary. But the Grey’s Anatomy leading man, who has been married for eight years, admits that the marriage proposal to his wife, Jillian Dempsey, was done “poorly.” “We just bought this house and we were in the middle of remodeling it and the kitchen was a mess,” the man we love as McDreamy told Entertainment Tonight. “I kept giving her this line where I had to find the right ring. I finally found it while she was gone and I couldn’t wait … so I popped the question in the kitchen.” In Made of Honor, Patrick Dempsey plays a serial dater who decides he wants to settle down just as his best platonic friend, played by Michelle Monaghan, decides to tie the knot. Patrick’s character then accepts her invitation to be her “maid” of honor as part of his master plan to woo her for himself. Dempsey also talked about his three children, and how he is excited to go back to work on the 4-5 new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy to air this spring. He’s been in touch with Ellen Pompeo a few times since production shut down late last year.

After spending a few days in the UCLA psychiatric ward for “exhaustion and a sleeping disorder,” Grey’s Anatomy star Justin Chambers is back at home, and was spotted out in L.A. reading what appears to be the Bible for guidance… Other members of the Grey’s Anatomy cast say Justin Chambers was just going through some tough times, but nothing severe, is now back and doing fine.

The “fight against cancer” Eric Dane reportedly went through was not nearly as bad or dramatic as it sounded in OK! Magazine, the actor’s rep said. The OK! Magazine cover story in its February 18 issue sensationalized the fact that the Grey’s Anatomy star, 35, was diagnosed with skin cancer and had malignant cells on his lip frozen off with liquid nitrogen in a doctor’s office recently. “Eric Dane does not have cancer,” his rep told Us Weekly. “He spoke with OK! to clear up inaccuracies they were planning to run. His story certainly does not compare to those actually suffering from the disease.” The actor who plays Mark Sloan (a.k.a. McSteamy) on Grey’s Anatomy was reportedly mortified by the cover of the celebrity news magazine. “Never in a million years would he have expected they would exploit his story,” says the rep. “He’s considering legal action.” Let this be a lesson to us all not to trust OK! Magazine.

thanks Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo waves and signed autographs for fans as she leaves UCLA’s Royce Hall in Westwood, Calif. on Friday night. The Grey’s Anatomy actress, her fellow cast members, and the cast of Private Practice (minus leading lady Kate Walsh) made appearances at “Good Medicine,” a musical benefit to benefit crew members who were affected by the writers’ strike.

We can’t confirm this Grey’s Anatomy gossip with any degree of certainty, but BuddyTV is reporting that Katherine Heigl wants to leave the series that has vaulted her to critical acclaim and fame on the big and small screens. Heigl, who has experienced success at the box office with movies Knocked Up and 27 Dresses, reportedly seems more focused on pursuing her big screen career now and believes that she may have “outgrown” Grey’s Anatomy. Rumors say that Katherine Heigl, who plays Dr. Izzie Stevens, has even asked the producers of the hit medical drama to kill off her character - and to do so in such a manner as to hopefully elicit record ratings for the show. SIDE NOTE: It would be tough to top the viewer response that followed last season’s three-part episode in which Meredith Grey died and was later revived. Katherine Heigl is allegedly swamped with movie offers these days. The Emmy-winning Grey’s Anatomy actress has apparently been swayed by impressive box office performances of her theatrical releases that she no longer wants to be attached strictly to her small screen persona. She is rumored to be keen on focusing on her film career and has even put together a production company with her manager and mother, Nancy Heigl. Even if this were true, and we’re not sure it is, simply orchestrating a dramatic exit from the Grey’s Anatomy cast won’t be easy for Katherine Heigl. Not if the show wants her back, that is. Heigl’s contract with ABC and Touchstone has her locked in at Seattle Grace for the next several years. There are so many rumours about her and the possibility of leaving on E with Kristen she claims that she isn't leaving. www.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/blog/index.jsp?uuid=c2fe8794-7053-45af-8cbb-702a0e1f4594guess we will have to wait and see what happens

Katherine Heigl Leaving Grey's? Find Out Now! March 5, 2008 it's the show's impending post-strike return. Maybe it's the success of that mediocre movie with the dresses. Or maybe it's that recent National Enquirer story. Whatever the reason, rumors that Katherine Heigl's Grey's days are numbered have staged a Hillary-type resurgence this week. But does the prattle have any basis in reality? A well-placed Seattle Grace insider, who, it should be noted, has never steered me wrong before, insists that Heigl remains "under contract" and adds that there are "no plans or discussions" for her to exit the series. End of story. At least until the end of her next contract cycle. Of course, Heigl wanting to leave Grey's and actually leaving Grey's are two very different things. That's not to suggest she wants to leave. Just that the two things are different. I want to be very clear about that. All this talk about Heigl not leaving Grey's has me wondering: Could the show survive without Izzie? Gizzie, yes. But Izzie? Source: TV Guide

McDreamy sure has a passion for cars (and lookin’ good). After a typical morning workout at the Easton Gym in Los Angeles, Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey drove his Porsche 997 GT3 RS to Heritage Classics on Friday to look at some classic automobiles. Here’s a picture of Patrick …

Eric Dane, seen here leaving STK restaurant (where he dined with his actress wife Rebecca Gayheart) in Hollywood on Monday, recently talked about his Grey’s Anatomy character, Mark Sloan, and his nickname “McSteamy.”
“I believe the name became very popular because Patrick Dempsey’s character, Derek Shepherd - McDreamy - was already so popular, and I was a counterpart to him so it automatically sort of arose in the atmosphere,” he said.
Eric Dane: McSteamy to the extreme-y. Sorry, that was lame.
“I don’t mind it, in fact it has changed my life. I haven’t seen the downside to this nickname yet. McSteamy has been good to me so far.”
It’s been good to Grey’s Anatomy fans to, we dare to say.

Kate Walsh Makes a Surprise House Call to Seattle Grace May 1, 2008 by Brantley Bardin “I wouldn’t say it was exactly like ‘coitus interruptus,’” cracks Kate Walsh, aka Dr. Addison Montgomery, about the recent writers’ strike. “But I’d say that when the strike came and stopped Private Practice after only nine episodes, it was like a mad roller-coaster ride when the train suddenly stops: It was disorienting. I mean, you never know what’s gonna happen with a spin-off, and this one had been a dream come true — people were watching it and the network had just picked up our back nine episodes. And then, well… ‘The End.’ ” What a drama queen! Not only did the unstoppable Walsh use her hiatus to campaign for Barack Obama (“I’m passionately convinced he’s the best person to be the next president,” she says, adding with a laugh, “and that’s not because his wife is a huge Grey’s fan!”). But she did so with the assurance that Private Practice will return with more medical and sexual shenanigans come fall. And this week, just in time for sweeps, Addison and her dangerously high stilettos are once again clicking down the corridors of Seattle Grace on Grey's Anatomy (Thursdays at 9 pm/ET, ABC). So is she there for a bedside redux with McDreamy, McSteamy or McAlex? “It’s for a very top-secret, important surgery that only she can do,” Walsh says. “Not that I can tell you what that is, because at Grey’s they practically take our fingerprints to guarantee we don’t spill the beans!” (She does admit to “some great, funny scenes between Meredith, Derek and me.”) Uncharacteristically nervous for a firebrand who had no trouble recently lobbying on Capitol Hill (on behalf of Planned Parenthood, she pushed for sex-education programs beyond abstinence-only), the actress admits to jitters about returning to the show that made her famous. “Because even when I go back to visit, like my hometown, I worry about that old ‘you can’t ever really go home again’ thing,” she says. “But it was oddly comfortable. It felt like going home in the best way — like, we’re reunited and it feels so good!” In addition to having “So. Much.Fun!” on set, the actress says that she particularly had a gas hanging with Sara Ramirez (Dr. Callie Torres) and Brooke Smith (Dr. Erica Hahn). “In fact, Sara, Brooke and I started joking that we’d just do another spin-off and call it The Three Bad Bitches in New York.” Oh, we’d so watch that. Romance — both onscreen and off — was the topic of the day at the Chrysalis Ball, held Saturday night at a private estate in Brentwood, Calif.
The hosts: Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart.
Dane’s character, Mark Sloan, had a rough season as far as his love life goes. But as far as his own marriage to Gayheart goes, he couldn’t be happier:
“It is great. I don’t know how I got so lucky,” he said.
Eric Dane added that he and Gayheart are “working on” kids.
Several Private Practice stars — Kate Walsh and Tim Daly included — as well as other stars (like Eva Mendes) were there to support Dane and Gayheart.
Among the Grey’s Anatomy contingent was Katherine Heigl, who momentarily misplaced her spouse, Josh Kelley, and began joking that married life is “Great … except that I’ve lost my husband, so it could be over now, I guess!”
Heigl is managing to juggle working on a hit show and a busy movie schedule (she is now filming The Ugly Truth): “It’s a real blessing because I love both and so I can do them both and not be completely ready to blow my brains out.”
T.R. Knight and boyfriend Mark Cornelsen were all smiles, saying that their relationship is “very good, so far,” but even with same-sex marriage now legal in California, they’re not about to tie the knot anytime soon.
As far as romance on Grey’s Anatomy, Knight was as surprised as anyone by George’s kiss with Lexie at the end of the May season finale.
“What was up with that?” he asked.
T.R. Knight has no idea if a bona fide romance will follow, but adds that “I love working with Chyler Leigh. She’s really funny and it’s really fun to work with her. I like the dorky actor ‘craft’ part of it, where you discuss the scene and so does she. She’s a cool person.”
Knight also seemed confused about the the controversial — and now ended — affair between George and Izzie, saying, “It kind of died quickly, didn’t it? They had them fall in love really quickly and then tore them apart really quickly. It just seemed to be such a weird, fast event.”
James Pickens was delighted to be reunited in the Grey’s Anatomy finale with his TV wife, Adele, played by Loretta Devine.
“Yeah, we got him some action for a change,” he said.
“He got a chance to get some, so that’s all good!”
Pickens joked that his character’s marital status depends on the availability of Devine, who also stars in Eli Stone.
As for what’s going on next season, Pickens said, “I think we’re doing 26 episodes. The network’s got to get back what they lost during the strike.”
Pickens is off to D.C. for a jazz festival and Heigl planned to hit Cabo before the Grey’s Anatomy cast returns for their first table read June 19.

I love the interview with Ellen pompeo and David Letterman by the way. And i'm also a big fan of Grey's Anatomy. Out of all the characters I would have to say Chrstina is my favourite. She's so funny and honest and just doesn't care what people think. She really does get me lauging. ;D

Comments Fuel Rumors of Katherine Heigl Departure Never one to shy away from controversy, Katherine Heigl’s decision this week to take herself out of the running for an Emmy - sort of criticizing her own show’s writers in the process - has triggered yet another round.
Moreover, it’s revived rumors that she wants out of Grey’s Anatomy.
Heigl, who earned an Emmy for her work on the show last year, took herself out of contention for this year’s Emmy race because she felt that her character, Dr. Izzie Stevens, had not been given adequate material.
Recently, Heigl signed on to star in and produce a movie based on the book Escape by Carolyn Jessop, the former Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints member who fled the polygamous sect.
Katherine is also starring in the romantic comedy The Ugly Truth, and has already scored two big box office hits with Knocked Up and 27 Dresses.
While it is not unusual for TV stars to film movies during hiatus, some wonder if the Emmy snub is just the latest in a long string of events indicating that Katherine Heigl wants to leave the cast of the hit show.
ABC and Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes had no comment
Where Does Katherine Heigl Go From Here?
Katherine Heigl is either a genius or an idiot, or perhaps a little bit of both. Either way, it’s hard to see what she’s angling for here.
Her direct slap at Grey’s Anatomy writers by withdrawing her name from Emmy Award consideration due to the “insufficient material” given her character has renewed speculation that the blonde bombshell wants off the ABC medical drama STAT.
She’s under contract for two more seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, though, and most likely can’t make her departure happen because she feels like it.
Unless Heigl burns so many bridges and becomes such a liability that the show’s writers decide to eliminate her from the series of their own volition.
Amazingly, Heigl makes about $200,000 per episode of Grey’s Anatomy, an absurd amount of money by any measure. The potential to make even more money through movie roles is certainly there, but it’s also more fleeting.
One can’t help but wonder why Katherine Heigl would be so quick to turn her back (publicly no less) on Grey’s Anatomy, the show that made her a household name.
Admittedly, it’s been a rough stretch for Katherine Heigl and her character, Izzie Stevens, on Grey’s Anatomy. The writers’ strike did not help matters.
Even before that, though, the writers may simply be running out of news things for Izzie to do. Once she got together with George O’Malley (T.R. Knight) and that didn’t work out, her character seemed to be drifting a bit.
Which brings us to an issue that such a large, ensemble cast is bound to run into once a show stretches into its fourth season … and beyond.
With so many characters and so many interpersonal relationships, the show runs the risk of running out of plausible and entertaining plot lines.
That, in turn, causes frustration among its audience, but perhaps even more among the actors themselves. The day may come Grey’s Anatomy will feel the need to write in new characters and write out old characters.
