Season 3 of Heroes kicks into overdrive with a new superfast villain: Daphne, or ''The Speedster'' (Brea Grant, best known as Friday Night Lights' brainy Jean). In Heroes' premiere (Sept. 22, NBC), seen here, she steals ''something Hiro [Masi Oka] needs for his quest.'' But, says Grant, when Hiro stops time, she slows to regular speed. ''It's a Batman-Joker thing. We cancel each other's powers.''

Lots of Season 3 Spoilers Today I come fresh from BBC Two's Autumn launch, where us journo types were treated to a world exclusive, never-seen-before, you-will-be-castrated-if-you-secretly-record-this-and-upload-it-to-youtube preview of Heroes season three. As I value my intimate regions quite highly, I'm afraid that what follows is the best I can do. A warning: spoiler-phobes should look away now. # Nathan Petrelli is apparently dead. We see him rushed to hospital, where resuscitation attempts fail. "There was nothing we could do," a doctor tells the family. I don't believe it. # Looks like Elle (Kristen Bell) is going to be spending a bit of time sparring with Sylar this season. # Angela Petrelli introduces us to "Level 5", a housing place for the most dangerous criminals in the world - rapists, arsonists, killers. Presumably this is where the band of Villains escape from. # Matt Parkman is alone in the middle of a desert screaming for help. # New Villain 'The Speedster' steals something from Hiro and quips, "Gotta run." # Is Sylar in league with Angela Petrelli? In one short clip he is seen approaching her from behind and placing his hands on her shoulders. # Linderman is back with a prophecy of doom. "The second coming is at hand," he warns. # And, perhaps the most shocking tease of all: a big bald man, incarcerated in Level 5, shouts: "I'm not who you think I am. I'm Peter Petrelli..." The third season of Heroes will play out on BBC Two and BBC Three (and BBC HD) from the end of September, with a delay of just eight days on the original US broadcast. The season will comprise two "volumes", each containing 13 and 12 episodes respectively. Source: Digital Spy

Chuck Kim on Season 3 Daring to venture outside the Beverly Hilton base camp for the TCA press tour, on Wednesday morning I trekked to the extremely rural location where Heroes was shooting scenes involving, um, a familiar character, a brand-new one, and lots of intriguing mural art. Oh yeah, and there was a tortoise. In between shooting videos with a trio of cast members, I grabbed a few minutes with story editor Chuck Kim. Interestingly, he said that Heroes is better for the WGA strike which forced the NBC series to wrap up its sophomore season in December. "If Season 2 hadn't been cut, we were going to focus [the second half of the season] on the villains," he said. Instead, Volume III, kicking off Sept. 22, will take a more in-depth look at the temptation of the dark side. "The great thing is we've made [that arc] much better than it would have been," says Kim. "We'll be seeing some new [villainous] characters, but we'll also be dealing with our series regulars and see how their abilities are 'tempting' them." Heroes' three-hour season premiere "event" will wrap up any cliffhangers, then launch into the new arc, which in addition to villainy will explore romance ("I think the fans will really enjoy some of the connections we'll be making," teases Kim) and welcome a return... or two. In addition to Kristen Bell's multiple-episode encore as Elle, David Anders is expected back as Adam Munroe. Kim, however, wouldn't indulge my appeal to give Anders' fans any more to chew on. "Adam is an immortal guy, so he can't die so easily," the scribe acknowledged. "It's pretty safe to say that he could come back at any time from that coffin" in which he was buried alive. And when he does, will he be nastier than ever? Says Kim, "Well, he is pretty mad at Hiro!" Source: TV Guide

Heroes Season 3 Casting Update- Monica and Nana Dawson will return in the first few episodes, during which time their plot will remain in New Orleans and be centered around their relationship with Micah.
- West is likely to be gone for the time being.
- William Katt, who played Ralph Hinkley on Greatest American Hero will be making an appearance on Heroes : “I play a really, really wonderful, seedy, smarmy-mouthed reporter that goes after Ali Larter. It was a lot of fun.” Katt said he worked almost exclusively with Ali Larter. “She hogged me. She wanted me all to herself,” he jokes. Katt teases in the article that “he has the power of persuasion,” but the article claims the character doesn’t have powers.
- Shalim Ortiz reveals that his character might return next season. “We’re in the talks. It’s not written in stone yet, but yeah, sure. I’m very good friends with the executive producers, so hopefully we’ll be able to figure something out.” Seeing as this was before the strike, scripts could’ve been changed and Alejandro may remain dead.
- Malcolm McDowell ( Daniel Linderman) that he would be returning to Heroes for five episodes of Season Three.
- Jason Badower reveals that some of the new characters used in the Root and Branch graphic novels would likely be cast for the show.

Francis is doing a three-episode guest arc as villain Jesse Murphy, a thug who runs with a gang of two-bit criminals. However, Jesse is more than just a meathead. He does have a power.
- Bennets and Petrellis are staying front and center, and they will continue to be at odds with each other. There will be some shocking alliances and the appearance of at least one long-lost relative.
- N’Tare Mwine has joined the cast as an Aboriginal story teller named Usutu. Usutu will appear in episodes 3 and 4. This will not be the first time he has worked with Heroes. N’Tare Mwine was originally to play the terrorist Joseph Al Amir in the unaired pilot.
- David Anders will appear again in Season 3.

Hayden Panettiere Confirms Playing Two Characters In a recent interview Hayden Panettiere confirmed that Season 3 will go between the present and future confirming what we pretty much already knew based on the recent set photos. Here is the article: Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has hinted that she is taking on two characters in the next series of the hit show. The actress -- who plays sweet-natured cheerleader Clare Bennett in the NBC sci-fi drama -- says that her character takes a nasty turn in future episodes. She reveals, "We have received the scripts for the next season and everyone is so excited about it. "It has some really, really great storylines and a couple of us get to play two different characters. "For a second we go between present and future. The characters are very different. Maybe good and evil too." Source: Show Biz Spy

Season 3 Update - Bloody Peter and Niki The site Petite Fashionista recently visited the Season 3 Set of Heroes and had a chance to visit with Hayden Panettiere, during their visit they also met other stars including Milo Ventimiglia and Ali Larter who were both in costume completely covered in blood, with Peter (Milo) having a bullet wound to he back of the head and Niki/Jessica (Ali) having her throat slashed. It was a lot of fun hanging out with Hayden and her assistant Carrie in the trailer. Plus, we also got to say hi to some of the other stars of the show... Milo came in with a bullet stuck in the back of his head and he had to wash really hard to get all the blood of his body. He and Hayden were very friendly, not that you need me to confirm any of the rumors. Next, Ali Larter walked in with her throat slashed open, it looked very real and gross. Hayden joked that although she gets hurt the most she doesn't get as bloody. Everyone was a lot of fun, constantly joking around and laughing. When Hayden went on set to shoot her scene, we were directed to a set of monitors to watch the action take place. They did her scene about 5 times (all were flawless) and when it was a wrap, Hayden took us to another corner of the studio: Claire's living room (as seen on the show!) for a cozy interview. HaydenPanettiere and Milo Ventimiglia Dish on Villains Bwahaha! The Villains are coming! This season on Heroes the bad guys are multiplying like bunnies at the Playboy Mansion, and Claire Bennet (aka the Cheerleader, aka Claire-Bear, aka Hayden Panettiere) and Peter Petrelli (aka Jess on Gilmore Girls, aka Milo Ventimiglia) themselves were on hand at tonight's NBC bash to share a little scoop... Click in to find out what's tramautizing Claire this season, what's worse than Sylar on the big-bad front, and what big change is in store for the younger Petrelli brother... About Those Villains... According to Milo and Hayden we're in a world of trouble with these new villains. Hayden said, "There's many things much worse than Sylar (Zachary Quinto)." He's a tough act to follow, but OK. And Milo said, "I think everybody [this season] is confronting something worse than Sylar. It's something that is going to strike a chord and be close to Peter, what this big obstacle in the road is...[because] it's a threat to everybody, it's a threat to everything. I'm not going to say it's four horsemen or one horseman, but there's gonna be a power that comes in that everybody has to kind of band together to make sure it doesn't run wild." Band from TV: Speaking of banding together, Hayden said that the original cast will be sharing lots of screentime, "A lot of us are working much more closely together—the main cast—which I think is what the audience missed about second season, and I think what we missed about second season—that we didn't really get the chance to work with each other. We're all crossing paths this season." Can I get a hell yes? Hands Off the Cheerleader! Hayden hinted at a big bad that deeply affects our Claire-Bear and changes her future forever, saying, "Something happens to [Claire] that's actually quite frightening to her and it plays a big part into who she becomes in the future and what happens to her. I wish I could babble about it now, because I have a lot to say about it, but I can't. But it's something, yes, that manifests further about her ability that weighs heavily on her emotionally, and mentally, as a person. And I think it would [weigh on] anyone who would be going through a situation like that...I think Claire plays a very important role in what happens, and in that way she can be worse than all of them." She also said her character's fate, "Future Claire's very different, and it's a very different world. It's kind of, as you can imagine, a world gone a little bit awry. She's a very different person." Control+Shift+Peter? Milo Ventimiglia shared a big fat clue about Peter's storyline when the show resumes: "The one thing I can say is that Peter's not quite himself this season...The second season Peter lost himself and the first season Peter was fighting himself, and in the third season, when I say Peter's not quite himself, he's not quite himself." And just between you and me and the fly on the wall, I can tell you that a newly introduced character has something to do with that change... It's Only a Teenage Wasteland: Seems like Claire's still on the teen rebellion tip this year. The way Hayden explained it was that, "As a teenager, even younger than myself, [Claire is] still going through that turmoil with [her] parents, and she's trying to break away, and she kind of starts to, this season. She's gotten to the point—and I remember getting to this point, too—where you'd ask [permission], but you knew what you were going to do, regardless of what the answer was." Love Interest for Claire? Remember how I told you West (Nicholas D'Agosto) was almost certainly gone? Hayden all but verified that and even admitted (tacitly, at least) that the fans weren't such a fan of that character. When asked if they were working on any romance for her character this season, Hayden said, "No! Not at all, not yet. I have not read past episode eight, so it could be in the future, I don't know, but I think we tried that and it went...not so much. Personally, I'd rather be interacting with everyone else and be in the core of what's going on and what's going on has nothing to do with relationships like that, so..." The Harder They Fall: Uh-oh. Sounds like Peter Petrelli might be cruisin' for a bruisin' this season. According to Milo, "[Peter is] the strongest of them all, that's what everybody says, he's the most powerful of them all [and] at some point those guys have to fall." Stupid mythological rules! Can't he just kick ass all the time, like he did in the lab scenes in the finale last season? Because that was flippin' fun. Comic-Con International Logo The Long Con: In addition to the Heroes panel at Comic-Con—which people in the know assure me is a must-attend panel with a special treat in store for us fans—Milo will be doing a panel in support of his new comic book from Devil's Due, created with Mark Powers and Sean McManus. Milo said, "It's a book called Rest, it's a guy who's down on his life who's introduced to an experimental drug that suppresses the need to sleep. It's just a story that's personal to me. I sleep about four hours a night because there's so much that I have going on in my life, and there's something that we're always trying to chase, and that's having more time." Also, Masi Oka told me earlier in the night that they're planning to play the whole first episode of Heroes at Comic-Con. Count. Me. In. (Hope to see you there!) Time for bed, at least until I get my experimental drug shipment delivered! I'll see you tomorrow for the final batch of TCA funtimes, but in the meantime, post your take on this Heroic dish in the comments! Source: E!Online

‘If you die this year, you’re dead.’
Ventimiglia: Heroes Shocks
Milo Ventimiglia, who plays the power-absorbing Peter Petrelli in NBC's Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming third season will shock people--and not just because something happens to his character in the very beginning of the season premiere.
"I think a lot of people are going to be shocked," Ventimiglia said in an interview at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., over the weekend. "Not only between the opening moments of the season, but every single scene of every single character that comes through. I think people are really going to be excited, surprised, fascinated. I mean, I flip through the scripts just as fast as I can, and I'm blown away by what I see, and I'm really excited to see, like, the 'holy s--t!' moments, you know?"
The upcoming third season is subtitled "Villains," which also applies to the dark side of his character, Ventimiglia said. "As good-hearted and well-intentioned as Peter is, exploring that darker side is inevitable," he said. "And, I think, you know, you're going to see some people that have walked a very shadowed past, possibly walking on the good side."
Look for the Petrelli brothers--Peter and Nathan (Adrian Pasdar)--to spend more time together, he added. "Keeping the brothers Petrelli apart for very long is a detriment to something that is great between those two characters," Ventimiglia said. "I've spent a lot of time with Adrian, ... very happily."
As for Nathan's apparent death at the end of last season? Doesn't everyone always come back? "I know that the beginning of this year, [series creator and executive producer] Tim [Kring] said to me--I don't know what he said to anybody else--but he said, 'If you die this year, you're dead.' So. I mean, those of us who do have that ability [to resurrect]--myself and Claire and who else? I guess the two of them. Those are the two that really can't [die]. There could be more."
Ventimiglia added that he's been doing a lot of stunt work this season. "Been beat up, been bruised, but I'm walking and standing and maybe moving a little slower today," he said. Heroes returns Sept. 22 with a retrospective clip show at 8 p.m. ET/PT and a two-hour season premiere at 9.

What If? Mohinder had a little ham
Pardon the pun, but it’s called for here, because Kristin, on the newest entry of her blog at E!online, answered a fan’s question with a very cryptic hint:
Halo in St. Paul, Minn.: I would love to hear something about Heroes!
How about some Mohinder dish? As was revealed in the Comic-Con screening of the season premiere, Mohinder (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is getting powers, and I can tell you that the powers you see exhibited at the end of the finale are not the end of the story. Before too long we’ll
see him exhibit a nifty power that he shares with one of the top five comic-book superheroes of all time. Care to guess which hero and which power? (Here’s a hint: Homer Simpson had a pig version.)
Now: ‘one of the top five comic superheroes of all time’…’had a pig version’… according to our resident comic books geek the hint could refer to Spider-Man (Peter Parker) and his parody at Marvel titled Spider-Ham (Peter Benjamin Porker).
