Hurt confirms return as Ollivander for Deathly HallowsIn a red carpet interview at the Tribeca Film Festival, John Hurt, the actor who played Ollivander in Sorcerer's Stone said he will be back to reprise the role of the famous wandmaker in Deathly Hallows. "It was great doing it the first time, and it's quite like revisiting Quentin Crisp, except not quite 33 years in between!" "It's a very crucial part of the last [book], if you think about the implications of it." I'm so glad he's coming back to play Ollivander. He was awesome in the first Potter film. He was just how I imagined him to be

Shell Cottage for Deathly Hallows nears completion The Telegraph has a new report up from Pembrokeshire, where crews for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows are putting the finishing touches on Shell Cottage: It is a bizarre sight for beachcombers - the front is old stone while the roof is made up entirely of large scallop shells.
The building on the Freshwater West beach in Pembrokeshire will feature in the final instalment of the seven hit wizarding films.
Stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson - who play the Harry, Ron and Hermioine - will spend several days filming at the cottage later this month. More photos of Deathly Hallows' Shell CottageComingSoon.net has posted a couple of great new photos of the Shell Cottage set built in Pembrokeshire. Deathly Hallows Shell Cottage filming, day threeThe third day of filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 'Shell Cottage' scenes continued today and fans got to see many new things from the film, most notably a first look at Domhall Gleeson playing Bill Weasley. Oclumencia has a number of great photos from both yesterday's filming and today where you can see a crew member holding a figure of Dobby.Additionally, MuggleNet reader Bexybat visited the set today and provided us with this report: "Speaking to a security guard at the filming he told me that today was going to be the last day they were filming there. They filmed the scene just after apparating from Malfoy Manor, appearing on the beach with Harry, Griphook, Ron and Hermione all lying on the floor, Harry checking on Hermione before seeing Dobby staggering towards him. Dobby then collapses and Luna runs over to comfort Harry."Read more...

^^ Well I'm no witch. Deathly Hallows crew purchase old wooden furnitureThis is Bristol reports on a recent shopowner's experience working with the crew of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Movie makers have been to a second hand furniture shop in Knowle West to buy old tables and wardrobes for the latest Harry Potter film.
Set designers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows heard about Re:store in Filwood Broadway through the Furniture Reuse Network.
Vicky Beckwith, 39, of King William Road, Bedminster, who runs the store said: "The set designers contacted us and said they needed old wooden furniture that was a bit battered.
"They bought a wardrobe and tables and chairs Thirties.
"It was ideal for us. Furniture from that period is a bit too big and heavy for use in modern homes. Nobody buys it.

Rhys Ifans interviewed about role in Deathly HallowsReaders may remember that in late-March, Rhys Ifans confirmed he had a role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. His role was later revealed to be Xenophilius Lovegood, and we now have a new interview with Rhys where he talks briefly about this opportunity. In one part of the interview, he discusses Leavesden Studios (where all the Potter films have been primarily shot): It's an enormous place, so you walk about and see things like a zoo full of owls, so if you need an owl for a scene, you pick up the phone and someone comes across with an owl. It's a like a machine. I've never been - in America - with an employer of so many people.
I'm not a big fan of Harry Potter but it feels like a privilege to get called up with people like Maggie Smith and Michael Gambon so it's an honour that they thought of me to play a cross-eyed wizard.Read the rest right hereI can totally picture this dude playing Luna's dad! lol
