A big (bang) guest star has signed on for the Grey's Anatomy season finale.
According to Michael Ausiello, a CBS sitcom star has signed on to appear in the the May 14 episode.
Kaley Cuoco, the lovely leading lady on The Big Bang Theory, will star in the finale as... someone. The actress admits she actually has no idea about the character she'll portray.
"I am working on Grey's Anatomy next week," Cuoco said. "It is a big ol' secret. I have no clue what I am doing. I swear on my life that I have no idea what I am playing because it is the finale and they are keeping it under wraps until the last possible moment."

Start the Baby McDreamy watch (sort of)!
Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is pregnant with her husband, Chris Ivery, her rep confirms.
"It's great news," says Jennifer Allen. "They're ecstatic."
The couple, both natives of the Boston area, met in a Los Angeles grocery store in 2003 and began dating six months later. They've been together ever since.
The actress, 39, and Chris Ivery, 41, were married personally by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in a low-key ceremony on her birthday in November 2007.
They got engaged on her birthday exactly a year earlier in 2006.
Chris Ivery: Ellen Pompeo's real-life McDreamy.
No word on whether there is a McDreamy Jr. in the works, given this new announcement. Don't be so sure. Chyler Leigh, who plays Pompeo's half-sister on the show, is currently expecting but her pregnancy was hidden, not worked into the script.
"I keep wondering when the transition from carrying charts to pushing wheelchairs to pushing gurneys to close up face shots in the OR will happen," Leigh, who already has two children with her husband, joked to Access Hollywood a couple of months ago.
"I guess the positive is, I'll have really buff arms from all the carrying and pushing of random medical equipment." Meredith's got to be pregnant on the show, right?

As we reported last week, the lovely Kaley Cuoco was set to guest star on Grey's Anatomy, only to suddenly disappear from the cast a few days ago.
Well, EW has cracked the case of the mysterious vanishing guest star.
Although the actress' rep says an unforeseen "publicity commitment" forced The Big Bang Theory star to back out of a top-secret appearance on Grey's Anatomy's May 14 season finale, multiple sources say it was her current employer, CBS, that nixed the deal.
An CBS spokesperson couldn't be reached for comment, but one insider explains, "They didn't want one of their biggest stars appearing on one of ABC's biggest shows."
As a result, Grey's Anatomy has instead tapped former OC starlet Shannon Lucio (she played Caleb's illegitimate daughter, Lindsay) to fill Kaley Cuoco's shoes.
Still unknown: Who the heck is she playing?
Some speculated that, based on Cuoco's resemblance to Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl, perhaps the character is a relative of Izzie Stevens.
That possibility may be less likely with the casting of Lucio... or is it?

Grey's Anatomy star and expectant mom Ellen Pompeo, who announced she is pregnant a week ago, brought along some adorable company - pet poodles Valentino and Gigi - while visiting a friend of hers in the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday afternoon.
She sure makes a cute pregnant person ...
Ellen Pompeo is carrying three adorable creatures!
No word on how Pompeo's pregnancy will fit into the Grey's Anatomy universe. Will Meredith Grey become pregnant also? Will Ellen take a leave of absence? Will the producers use camera tricks or other disguises / approaches to disguise it until she gives birth?
That appears to be their approach with pregnant co-star Chyler Leigh, whose character, Lexie, was nervously stuffing her face with food at every opportunity last night

She's merely a few hours old right now, but Chyler Leigh's third child, Anniston (her second daughter), is already displaying a penchant for immaculate timing!
Leigh, 27, and her husband, actor Nathan West, 30, welcomed their baby girl this afternoon, just days after she wrapped filming the fifth season of Grey's Anatomy.
The actress' rep said in a statement: "Both mother and child are healthy." Hooray!
Little Anniston Kay, who weighed 7 lbs., 1 oz., joins Noah Wilde, 5, and Taelyn Leigh, 2. And the happily married couple hasn't ruled more kids in the future.
"We love our family," West told People magazine in November. "If I wasn’t working as much and [Chyler] didn't have the show, we'd have five or six kids."
The days of hiding Chyler Leigh's pregnancy have come and gone without a hitch!
The couple, who met at a pilot audition 10 years ago and co-starred on 7th Heaven, will celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary later this year.
Chyler Leigh "is a phenomenal actress and an amazing best friend, but hands down, mothering is what she does best," her doting hubby added.
The actress who plays her TV sister, Ellen Pompeo, recently announced she is pregnant with her first child. Babies on the brain on the Grey's set!

Dominic Monaghan is appearing in ABC's new promo campaign, but according to EW, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Charlie Pace being resurrected on Lost.
But that's what the network wants folks to think.
Why? Because they're trying to keep under wraps the real reason he was playing table soccer with Patrick Dempsey, Courteney Cox, and Ed O'Neill in that clip.
Monaghan is featured in that spot because rather than coming back to Lost, where he starred for three seasons, he's actually joining the cast of another hour-long ABC drama series as a full-time regular. And ABC wants it to be a surprise.
A big surprise.
Our question: Why on earth wouldn't ABC want people to know which of its shows' casts would be augmented by Dominic Monaghan, a popular actor from Lost, and also the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the summer blockbuster X-Men Origins: Wolverine?
•Could it be because the show Monaghan is joining is none other than Grey's Anatomy, and making the announcement could spoil the show's summer cliffhanger? •Could Monaghan be taking over the role of George O'Malley from T.R. Knight, or playing a new character altogether that ABC nonetheless wants to keep secret? We have no evidence to suggest this is actually happening other than what you just read above. It's just a rumor, and we are just throwing that out there. Thoughts?

While fans of Grey’s Anatomy have been left to speculate on the future of original cast members Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight, some of their co-stars are no better off.
Access Hollywood caught up with Jessica Capshaw, who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins on Grey's, to as if she had any insight on the respective futures of Izzie and George.
“I will absolutely be quoted as saying [series creator and executive producer] Shonda Rhimes is an absolute genius because she doesn’t tell anyone anything,” Jessica said.
Not knowing what lies ahead is just fine with Jessica.
“That’s actually very generous of her because she doesn’t want to burden us with knowing and not being able to tell you – or telling you!” the actress said.
However, Jessica’s own future with the show also remains up in the air – she revealed she has yet to receive her renewal letter (although ABC has until June 20 to send it).
“Knock on wood,” she said.
The 32-year-old actress, who joined the show in its fifth season, was hopeful she would be returning to Seattle Grace, along with the rest of the Grey's Anatomy cast.
“It’s fantastic. It’s funny that there’s so much drama surrounding the show, because you’ve never met a group of more decent people,” she said. “It’s as normal as it gets

The sixth (!) season of Grey's Anatomy gets underway Thursday, September 24 at 9 p.m.
Amazing that Grey's Anatomy has been on that long - and we don't know how we're expected to wait that long for the show we love to resume with new episodes again!
The official premiere date for Private Practice has not been announced, however one can safely assume it will follow Grey's Anatomy that same evening at its usual 10 p.m.
Preceding Grey's on that Thursday evening will be ABC's much-hyped sci-fi drama Flash Forward. By the way, it has now been reported that Dominic Monaghan will be starring on that series, and not our beloved Grey's Anatomy, which some had speculated

On the same day that Grey's Anatomy bid farewell to T.R. Knight, some good news has emerged: Jessica Capshaw has been promoted to a full-fledged cast member and series regular.
Her promotion news hardly comes as a surprise.
Last month, series creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes all but signed off on Capshaw's promotion in an interview after the shocking Season Five finale.
"I love Jessica Capshaw," she gushed. "And when I say love I mean love. She couldn't be a more wonderful person, and I feel like the chemistry Arizona and Callie have feels like the Meredith and Derek chemistry to me. I find them delightful to watch."
For her part, Jessica Capshaw said she hoped to join the cast full-time in Season Six, having only good things to say about her experience so far. Glad she got her wish!
The ex-Practice star joined Grey's Anatomy last February as Dr. Arizona Robbins, a recurring love interest for Sara Ramirez's Callie. Her arrival came on the heels of the controversial dismissal of Brooke Smith as Callie's girlfriend Dr. Hahn.

Nothing groundbreaking here, but because E! Online has complied a list of all the Grey's Anatomy cast comings, goings and other issues all in one place, we are passing it along so you know who's in, out and up in the air as Season Six gets closer by the day.
Who's returning as a regular?
These Grey's Anatomy cast members will be back as series regulars with no complications: Justin Chambers as Dr. Alex Karev, Eric Dane as Dr. Mark Sloan, Patrick Dempsey as Dr. Derek Shepherd, Kevin McKidd as Dr. Owen Hunt, Sandra Oh as Dr. Cristina Yang, James Pickens Jr. as Dr. Richard Webber, Sara Ramirez as Dr. Callie Torres and Chandra Wilson as Dr. Miranda Bailey.
What about Katherine Heigl?
Despite some backstage rumors you may have heard about, you just don't let go of an Emmy-winning movie star like Katherine Heigl, and thank goodness too.
Heigl did a hell of job with Izzie Stevens' cancer storyline last spring. Look for her to appear regularly in Season Six, although perhaps not quite as front and center as last year.
It's hard to top cancer!
P.S.: Commitment-phobic Alex got married to Izzie in the 100th episode last spring. Wonder if that's still copacetic, or if he'll have some adjustment issues?
What's up with the moms?
Ellen Pompeo is due to have her first baby in the fall. No official word yet on what her maternity leave will mean for Dr. Meredith Grey on the show, but there is talk that the actress may be able to appear in all Season Six episodes thanks to creative scheduling.
The adorable Chyler Leigh should be back on the show full-time as Dr. Lexie Grey after having her third child in May. Yes, third kid. She is not even 30!
Who's new full-time?
Remember when Brooke Smith appeared as Dr. Erica Hahn? Seems like a generation ago. She's been replaced by Jessica Capshaw as Dr. Arizona Robbins. Supercute baby doctor Robbins is confirmed to be joining the show as a regular character for Season Six.
Who's out?
Last but not least, T.R. Knight has departed the show.
The specifics of George O'Malley's departure remain unconfirmed and shrouded in mystery until you we see the premiere on September 24, but our best guess is that the bus accident was his demise and Season Six opens with a funeral for the good man
